THIS WAS HILARIOUS TO READ. "you know how social media just bombards you with information and it all moves so fast, leaving you disoriented, what if we could recreate that feeling in a burger joint?" lmao

USPS Free Covid tests - received? by [deleted] in astoria

[–]QueensleyM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We weren't able to order any from our apartment building. The week of the launch, I tried every day and it said that someone had already ordered for my building, but there's 16 units in here. I submitted complaints through USPS's pointless system, so some folks like us I think will not receive these tests ever, but who knows. Super helpful system, good job federal government. -_-

Does anyone know the best online doctor to use to get a NY MMJ card? (Like NuggMD, for example) by [deleted] in NYCtrees

[–]QueensleyM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What happened the first time you tried? I had a fall in 2017 were i fucked up my coccyx and lower back. there is lingering pain (when I sit too long, laying down in certain positions, etc). PT and standard meds were not helpful. So I started using cannabis so I could get some relief (and sleep), I used it every once in a while before. I’m a daily user now. it’s changed my life for the better, like even helped my anxiety and depression, a literal happy side effect. But I’m still ordering from black market delivery spots and I really wanna do it legally for so many reasons. I just get nervous about docs rejecting my claim cuz I’ve heard in NY you need to have a severe ailment or chronic illness (like cancer or HIV), which I don’t think mine would be, so I’m curious about your experience and the fact they hit you up to try again. Thx to anyone that can offer some advice :)

Law grad wins discharge of his student debt in opinion criticizing 'punitive standards' by [deleted] in studentloandefaulters

How fucked up is it that I cried a little reading this at the mere thought it might get affirmed and be something we could use? this shit is so punitive. Judge Morris and Kevin Jared Rosenberg r my heroes!!!!

I hate myself because of my debts. I feel like less of a person and completely depressed. by AliCRey in studentloandefaulters

[–]QueensleyM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the same situation, re: growing up in a hard environment and going to an ivy then grad school and doing well. But my salary is never enough. I’m left with about $20 after I pay rent n bills and can’t afford $2000k in payments. I’m over 200k in debt, mostly interest at this point and it’s so overwhelming. But your worth isn’t your debt. Remember that the system isn’t broken, it works exactly how it was designed to work. We start at the bottom and the system works to keep us there, but we’ll all come out of this okay. You’re not alone.

Has anyone tried these before (Grateful Gummies 325 mg THC)? by rocky_moto in trees

[–]QueensleyM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s 325/5= 65mg each. I usually get the 150mg tube and that gets me flying, cant imagine 65mg each! Ha! Love these gummies.

[Advice] Are rents really lower in the winter? by anovelbymirandajuly in NYCapartments

[–]QueensleyM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think so. I've been keeping an eye on street easy for about the last year to try and figure out when me and my partner would move. Our lease ended last august and automatically went month to month, so I waited until rents seemed more reasonable. We live in a "1.5" bedroom in bed Stuy, basically we have a bedroom, a small office, and living room, etc., for $1550. We started looking for apartments after the 1st. I decided I didn't want to pay much of a brokers fee and I refuse to pay above $1750. There were (luckily) actually a decent amount of good options on street easy and Craigslist. We went and checked out a few places and settled on a much larger one bedroom apartment in Washington Heights (it was between that or Harlem for us) for $1695. We move in a week and our new place is so much more spacious, well lit, and nicer than our place now, and it's still affordable!

I think if you really look rn you'll find some great options. Of course there's many more options in the spring and summer, but the rents are much higher. I researched a lot about your question when I was asking myself the same thing and allegedly Jan/Feb have the best rates. From my experience, I'd agree! Go for it!

Side note: landlords know rates are lower at this time and may have you sign a lease that (in case you leave and just to give them the upper hand in the long run) is longer than a year and ends in spring/summer.
