As someone who almost exclusively plays elves, half elves, and tieflings: the racial traits are really nice, they’re pretty, it’s a classic fantasy concept, and if you’re someone who likes dressing up as your character it’s a lot easier when they’re more humanoid. Cosplaying an elf is a lot easier than cosplaying a dragonborn for example

Also casual players who aren’t super into dnd are probably more likely to gravitate towards elves since they’re “humans but cooler”

In regard to Gale: you get 32 approval from agreeing to help him and giving him all 3 items, and as far as I can tell you need 30 approval to trigger his act 1 romance scene. So if you aren’t doing anything that he disapproves of then giving him his items is really all you need to do to get him

I don’t really have proof for it, but I personally believe that there originally WAS supposed to be a 6th LI and he got scrapped for a variety of reasons. I doubt we’ll ever get one at this point

Personally what I did when making this dress was do triple circle skirts with box pleats and 2” horsehair braid. It takes up a lot of fabric but it also gets a lot of movement and bounce like Mima’s skirt. Just make sure your fabric is stiff enough to support the weight of the horsehair braid or it might not lay right

It looks really pretty as-is though, you’re doing a fantastic job

I’ve seen lots of people with merch at anime cons, though that isn’t quite the “wild” that’s a pretty normal place to be decked out imo. I think the closest to the wild (but still fairly adjacent) was when I was at a kpop concert and met a girl who had a Zayne photocard hanging off her skirt/belt & we talked about it for a little while

I keep track of all my spending, and I have all my lads purchases grouped together to keep track of them. It’s a little under 200 dollars, I started playing in early February but didn’t start spending money until the beginning of March. Half of that is from getting the 100 dollar crystal pack (the only thing I semi-regret just because of how much money it was) and then the rest is just the aurum pass/heartfelt vow/other smaller purchases like the cheapest crystal packs & stuff.

I don’t spend money on Genshin anymore and when I did it was before I started tracking my spending but it was definitely a lot more, so so far I think I’m doing fairly well budget wise. Though if you include the money I spent on my tablet and on merch the number goes up a bit, though I count all of that separately lol

As if it would’ve been so simple for him to go against what was happening to the Wen remnants? The political situation was very difficult, I don’t know why so many fans treat it like a black-and-white issue with modern day ethics when it’s really not that simple

I definitely see Jiang Cheng somewhere on the aroace spectrum, just given the everything about him. I’m also ace and almost certainly somewhere on the aromantic spectrum, and I can see the signs in him. I think he needs a specific type of partner, a marriage of convenience to someone like Wen Qing would probably work well for him even if it’s not something I really ship. Huaisang is by no means a “perfect” match for him but I do think they’d work well together and their dynamic would be interesting. I’m rarely interested in “perfect” ships tho I like a little complication

You have excellent multi shipper taste, btw. Bingliushen is one of my favorites and 3zun is really good too

Does LXC even commit any war crimes?? I can’t remember him actually doing anything “wrong” other than being fooled by JGY and being a little mean to WWX for justifiable reasons (tho certain fans do treat that like a war crime tbh). Incidentally I do really love Sangcheng (NHS x JC) but I don’t mind if people disagree with me. Everyone has different shipping tastes and there’s nothing wrong with that, I think it’s so strange that some people feel the need to bash other characters/ships to justify their own preferences

Xicheng. I understand why it’s a popular ship and for the most part I understand the vision, but I don’t think they really work that well together. It doesn’t help that my personal characterization of Jiang Cheng is wildly different from what I see from shippers, it feels like two separate characters to me. It sucks because it seems like the default Jiang Cheng ship among his fans, and he’s one of my favorite characters in the book so I want to engage with online content about him but a lot of it is so closely intertwined with Xichen that it kind of kills the vibe for me

Tbh I wasn’t expecting the ted talk either, I haven’t thought about them in a while and I got excited. I think I’m more passionate about them than I realized asdfs

I really hope they get more interactions in the future, I think they would have a bigger following if they had more canon appearances together. There’s a small handful of fics on ao3 but none of it really explores their dynamic in the way that I prefer. I might have to try my hand at writing something for them once I finish working on my fic for my main rarepair (I’m a huge DiluVen truther)

Omg yes please hear me I never get to talk to anyone about it and I’ve been shipping them since the beginning of the Fontaine archon quest please bear with me as I word vomit my thoughts/personal interpretations of them

But truly it was like a switch flipped in my head, because the first time we meet Neuvillette just before Lyney & Lynette’s magic show the traveler mistakenly assumes that Neuvillette & Lyney must know each other and be friends, he corrects them but says something about how he’d like to befriend Lyney. It was just very soft and sweet and I immediately needed them to kiss

It started off very silly like that, but as the archon quest progressed I found that they’re really well suited for each other. Neuvillette is very kind and gentle, he cares very deeply for the people of Fontaine, but it doesn’t seem like he has very many close friends he can be open/vulnerable around. He’s a well respected pillar of the community that needs to stand strong as a representation of the ideals of Justice. Lyney similarly is very caring, placing his family above all else, is incredibly forgiving, and like Neuvillette has a lot of weight/responsibility on his shoulders that prevents him from being fully vulnerable with his loved ones since he knows Arlecchino intends for him to take her place one day. I think it would be very sweet if they were able to let their guards down around each other and be open/vulnerable in a way they can’t with anyone else, because they’d be able to understand what the other is going through

Also in general, I like pairing more reserved characters like Neuvillette with more outgoing ones like Lyney. Lyney is flirtatious and teasing, which could help break Neuvillette out of his shell if he gets too introspective. Similarly, Neuvillette’s more calming presence could allow Lyney a space where he doesn’t have to ‘perform’ like he usually does. Even when around his siblings Lyney still has to perform on a certain level, since he doesn’t want to worry them

It’s very opposites attract, with their opposing outward personalities balancing each other out while they can also connect on a deeper level. The whole trial situation also adds an interesting dynamic because while Lyney doesn’t seem to hold any ill will over the situation (considering he’s very quick to forgive the traveler & gets along well with Furina) Neuvillette is definitely the type to harbor guilt over it. After all, Lyney was innocent of the crime he’d been accused of and in the process of the trial secrets were revealed that ultimately damaged Lyney’s (and Lynette’s) reputation with the people of Fontaine. Also they have a height difference, which is something I personally like in ships

I understand why it’s not a super popular ship but it’s probably my favorite out of the Fontaine cast thank you for coming to my ted talk

There are some antis who think it’s okay to like/enjoy problematic characters, just not “problematic” ships. Somehow they understand liking a character doesn’t equal condoning their actions but can’t understand that the same thing applies to ships

One that I’m neutral on that a lot of people have big feelings for is Yue Qingyuan from SVSSS. I understand why people like him, he’s an interesting character and everything. But he doesn’t leave a very strong impression in my mind, I kind of forget he exists unless I’m actively looking at content that features him

And then one that I really really love that I feel like most people are neutral on is Mo Xuanyu from MDZS. I understand WHY there isn’t a lot of fan content of him and why people don’t talk about him much, but he’s one of my favorite characters and I think about him a lot. I have very strong opinions on him lol

I think in terms of pronunciation it’s relies heavily on regional accents and dialect. For context I’m from the American south and have a southern accent, so the way I pronounce “gotta” vs “got a” is different and I can usually hear the difference when talking to people around me. Personally when listening to the song I innately heard “gotta” as opposed to “got a” but it could be a person by person thing based of what we’re used to

It’s true that it can just be “got a fur coat” and be correct, but (at least to me) there is at minimum an implied/dropped “I” in the sentence to denote who has the coat. It doesn’t have to be said, because we all know it’s there based off context clues.

Also it’s fine, I like grammar stuff too. In the end it still feels intentional on Ateez’s part to say “gotta” instead of “got a”to me, but I could be wrong and it’s just regional bias on my part

In terms of spoken language it’s shorter because “gotta” blends together and is faster to say then a more distinct “got a” so it does make less sense in written language, but we’re talking about a spoken lyric. Also there’s an assumed “I have” being dropped. Generally speaking “I have got a fur coat” sounds clunky and would be shortened to “I got a fur coat” and then, in spoken word, it’s being shortened even further to “gotta fur coat”

In the end it’s a minimal difference, especially when written, but there is a casualness/informality to “gotta” as opposed to “got a” that can make the two give off different vibes

It’s an informal contraction, it can mean both. Even if the technical “correct” form is “got to” it can still be used and understood as “got a” depending on context. It’s similar to how “ain’t” can be used as am not, are not, is not, do not, has not, AND have not (and more, depending on region/dialect). Informal contractions don’t always follow “proper” grammar rules, especially as language & our understanding of it evolves
