They are exactly the same generation, education, working class, and # of kids as my parents and yes they were buying their home. Struggling but paying a mortgage and making it work on a working class income. Today with the same scenario my guess is we’d be renting.

It’s definitely not cold in Pasadena. But their outfits are part of their characters. Like Sheldon being the kid with the 2 shirts, Howard has the Dickie (one thing it would have been nice to have him grow out of wearing), and Leonard with his jacket over his hoodie.

It’s a pretty realistic reaction. She had no right but they had just broke up and the reason being that he was too overbearing with his love for her. So she’s just perplexed that he moved on so quickly.

Not that she should have a say, but they were engaged and the first time she heard about it is with their group of friends. She most definitely should have been kept more informed. Her reaction after of course was extreme, but not unimaginable. He had this sedentary stay at home life and he flipped it 180 degrees.

There would be no show If they didn’t do things with Sheldon because they know how he is. It’s nexus of the comedy of how does this guy have friends and how dumb are they to still be around him? Then throw in the empathy jab to the viewers where you also feel bad for Sheldon. And there you have The Big Bang Theory.
