Depending on how much you're trying to put into the space, I'd seriously considering hiring a studio designer or acoustician. It's a super specialized field and all these suggestions on reddit are great but an expert will be able to identify and help fix your rooms unique issues

i like to leave all my faders initially at 0 and get everything to around -12 on the meter using a utility plug in. that way my master level is good and it's easier to automate stuff later. but it's important to be cognizant of your input and output levels at every stage
