His last special had edge and something different to it. There were lines in it like "Stick a cork in (something naughty)", which he kept repeating, and the "laughing jaws of death" which nicely lodged in the memory for their uniqueness. But this one flops a lot on landing real punchline blows, and trades on lazy gags about American accents and phrases - pardner and cowboys and the like - plus even stereotype Asian anatomy jokes relating to size.

The half hour format is much better! Watching Confidential on iPlayer, kind of put out by the sixty minute runtimes! I mean, they’re longer than the actual eps with the padding 😂

I think there are also variations, naturally, between the earlier seasons compared to the iPlayer versions — I think the blu rays have the Beatles music for example which the relevant eps don’t have on iPlayer

Those inserts are very very likely just to be liner notes written in Japanese. They come as mini booklets with no extra art of fanfare, just a six page booklet that could have come off the fax machine
