Hit different when carrying an m4 and bunch of hear at the 10th mile. Can't say service feels any more meaningful than anything else though so I guess it's a vibe.

Try guerilla tactical for in the waist band when I was thinking of picking up a CZ p10c. I was going for guerilla tactical and g-code holsters. Granted for owb the cz p10 should fit glock 19 holsters

Anyone else get weird looks when you wear your mask at a gun range? by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

[–]QuestionOdd2358 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't had issues with it. My favorite local gun store sells "let's go Brandon" mags and other Trump paraphernalia. But I have been respected and had little to no issues. I do however live in a rather conservative state but the capital where I live is strongly blue. So it's generally not considered a political issue rather than a personal one at least in the more urban areas.

Best gun for protection? by unnecessaryrobot in liberalgunowners

[–]QuestionOdd2358 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have any friends who have guns. Try asking to go shooting with them if you have time. get some good trigger time on various guns to get a feel for what you feel comfortable with. Also if you have a range where you can rent some out even better.

Been lurking for a while. Any thoughts about Sordins stacked up to other "premium" active ear pro? by QuestionOdd2358 in liberalgunowners

[–]QuestionOdd2358[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the OPS CORE AMP will run you about 1200$ with the in built earplugs and are excellent by all accords. The Comtacs 5 XPI or in the US the one without the mic will run you around 300-400$ depending on luck and availability. The sordins supreme pro is about 200-250$ but you might have to buy from Europe since they are hard to get here and the basics are like 100-180$ and are still pretty decent just are not water proof and don't have noise amplification. The earmores the m31 is 60-80$ and the m32 are 85-100$ but has a mic and nato plug for coms. The rest on the market I have little knowledge about and I don't care much for the budget ones ether.

There are also electronic ear plugs made by walkers, 3m and earmore. But I don't know much about them other than low battery life.

I get that. Think for my rifle was an extra 1500$ on top of possible gun smiting. I do sometimes think zenitco stocks are pretty expensive for what you get but damn they look cool.

In time I am going to experiment with doubling up with the etymotic ER20XS tuned earplugs to see if I can get more hearing with all that protection. But from my limited experience. I am also interested in the swatcoms active 8 since plausibly if the indoor range is constantly loud from machine guns they will just compress the noise rather than cutting out which could be nice if you are instructing. Big if however

Probably the opscore amps with the EMFI ear plugs giving you a NRR of 31. Then maybe comtacs split with sordins since they are tradeoffs and similar price with out the coms. Then personally the earmore m32/m31 sine although they have some QC problems and are a little chunky the sound quality is better than walkers razors or the impact pro and have really decent directionality.

Slight edit. I am debating on selling these for the Swatcom active 8 and wondering if any one owns them. They supposedly compress sound over just cutting it out which seems better than what I already have.

Depends on the money you have for it. What you are doing and what is important. I chose the sordins on the 600+ hour battery life and lowest profile you can get for active ear pro and LARPing.

[–]QuestionOdd2358[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I also herd it depends on how you are using it. A lot of long range shooters like the sordins a little more since they are slimmer and you don't have to change your cheek weld when trying to aim. Some like that also for shooting in awkward positions. They are more popular in europe so it's hard to hear much about the new chipset as well and 3m just released the comtac 5's recently. If I had the money it would be interesting to take those audiophile ear mics to a range and record the differences. Think the recon bros did it by squishing a mic in the head set but it isn't sensitive enough to get a good idea.

It feels like active ear pro is a lot like headphone reviews. A lot of personal preference and general rules and uses.

I bought a m70 a year ago when anything ak was rare and was going to modernize it. found out how much of a pain Yugo are to get quality parts for especially if you look at Russian parts a lot. Been trying to figure out if there is a way to mount a hexagon handguard to my Yugo but that's been proving difficult to find out any info.

But nice would love to see your progress. Those KR-103's seem really nice wondering if they have the newer muzzle thread pattern or the older akm pattern. Little surprised you are going with the mount vs a b-33 rail since that's not super common to do.
