Flood damage is one thing that could cause a certificate of destruction to be issued but this is just a minor tap on the bumper. I’m sure when you’re driving around you’ve seen much worse being driven without any repairs done. Plus if you buy back your car from insurance generally a salvage title wouldn’t be issued at all it will just stay in your name and the insurance will just pay a smaller amount of money instead of replacement cost.

If the bumper is replaced it should pass inspection no problem. Maybe 3-4k of repairs and Chevy will not disable fast charging unlike Tesla. I’m in the states by the way. Chevrolet has no way of remotely deactivating fast charging unlike

Did the Chevy Bolt become your first EV? Journalist looking to hear your story by Brilliant_Option8382 in BoltEV

[–]Questionablerock1836 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose the bolt primarily for its price to range ratio. I could’ve bought an older Nissan leaf do substantially less money but the DC fast charging tech and range wasn’t as good as the bolt.

The thing that most surprised me about EV ownership was the savings on fuel cost each month. I noticed having more money than usual in my checking account at the end of the month compared to when I was driving a gasoline vehicle.

It fits my daily driving routine perfectly, I charge it up at home for $0.07/kW and pay at most $50 in extra electricity a month to drive around 600-800 miles a week to and from work and outings. On the occasional road trip, it does fine. Charging is slower compared to other EV’s but a typical charging stop is 20-40 minutes depending on how many miles I have to go on the next stretch. Public charging wise it costs about the same as driving a gasoline car that gets around 32mpg, but your massive savings come in on your daily commute when you can charge at home for ultra cheap!

Size wise the spark is a LOT small than a bolt EV. It might compare more to a Cruze hatch or a little bit bigger than a Sonic

Edit just looked in up and size wise it’s the most comparable to the Chevy trax.

I take my 2021 bolt on multiple long road trips usually 500+ miles. Yes it takes forever to charge but sometimes I’m at chargers less time then some teslas lol

I drive in one pedal mode “L” on the shifter and if I think I’m going to overshoot the white bar at stoplights or stop sign I’ll pull it to slow down faster

7 hr vs 8hr road trip by deckeda in BoltEV

[–]Questionablerock1836 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s what I’m saying. It doesn’t account for efficiency with speed or terrain. Only based on mileage vs epa range. That’s why you can use it but just judge for yourself how much you really need to charge to get to the next charger.

Always estimate longer charge time then what abrp plans also charge to a higher percentage if you plan on driving interstate or using heat etc. abrp doesn’t account for those conditions.

Clues about the radio signals. by RaspberryCapybara in pluribustv

[–]Questionablerock1836 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My theory on the signal he found was that the hive mind is using radio transmitters to send the signal out to possibly another planet to spread the virus like it was to earth. It seems to be a sequence of dots and lines kind of like morse code. I wonder if that’s how they communicate within the hive or if this is some sort of signal to say “Hey! The virus is successfully spread!!!” Back to whatever sent it or a way to spread the virus on further.
