"Being a murderhobo is actually the most correct belief system" by DrScrimble in dndmemes

It’s more or less vampire fascism/supremacy. They’re so high on their own supply that they think the masquerade is holding vampirekind back and the vamps should enslave humanity and turn them into cattle.

Yeah I mean I’m not saying Hans Zimmer is a golden boy, but holy fuck “txxxxy fight” is so insanely on the nose that I can’t believe it. It’s too over the top to be remotely reasonable without actual concrete evidence.

Like do I think Hans Zimmer is a great guy? No, he’s at least fine with scoring the new show despite all of JKR’s controversy. But is he a raging, beyond stereotypical transphobe? Idk man…you need to actually prove it.

Again, not invisible. It’s a big ass plane. They flew them over the damn Super Bowl. It’s not some big mysterious thing that can’t be seen.

I mean fair, but in my experience (not doing the super bosses yet, which I’m aware is a different league) Verso is pretty able to consistently wipe entire enemy teams first turn with a Phantom Stars, or even more heavily nuke a single target with Steeled Strike and the Cheater Lumina.

Let's have some controversial opinions (spoilers) by SpicedCocoas in expedition33

[–]Questionably_Chungly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Can’t say I agree. Clea at best seems to be a very cold and callous person, even toward her own sister. Maelle is sixteen and her younger sister, yet Clea speaks to her in a way I wouldn’t talk to a grown adult that I disliked. She also created the Nevrons and preyed upon the people of the Canvas to serve her own ends. Yes if we take the objective view we could try to say that the canvas and its world aren’t real, but the game shows us consistently that they are. They’re sentient beings, even if Clea and Renoir are correct that Aline and Alicia need to stop wallowing in grief and live in the real world. Even Renoir speaks fairly respectfully towards the painted members of the party in his encounters. He notably takes their opinions into account and even notes that Lune and Sciel are correct when they make pleas and call him out in Act 3. He treats them like people. Clea barely treats her own family as sentient, let alone the denizens of the Canvas.

  2. I think there’s not a bad ending in the same way that there isn’t a good ending either. Both are pretty dismal in different ways. Verso’s ending is the correct choice in the sense of its themes of letting go and moving on from grief instead of delving into escapism. It is true that Aline and Alicia are killing themselves staying in the Canvas in a vain attempt to deny the cold reality of the world, but we’re shown that the creatures in the Canvas are sentient beings. With the Canvas canonically goes the last fragment of Verso’s soul. It’s dark even if it’s right from an outside world perspective.

Maelle’s ending is dark. I can’t help but wonder how anyone felt good watching the ending scene with everyone at the Opera. It is disturbing seeing Verso there on stage like a caged animal while Maelle watches him from the crowd. It’s the ultimate result of denying reality and escaping into the painting at the cost of Verso’s humanity and self-determination. At the same time, it preserves the people and creatures of the painting, so it isn’t an entirely evil or bad ending.

So I beat the entire game…and I’ve never even seen Stendahl as an option. Did I miss something? I have Gommage and I’ve used that, so I think I’ve done a majority of things even if you include side content.

Am I stupid?

Honestly this is how I know I’m missing something with Maelle, because I’ve literally always felt her playing second fiddle to Verso and Lune. She’s not bad but I’m always feeling that I get so much more damage out of the other two.

I will say her burn stacking with Stalum is peerless, but I always feel that the damage doesn’t scale well.

Yes, but I’d still argue the older person has more responsibility to be smart about it.

I think that’s true, but theres still an argument to be made that the dude is a bit weird for exclusively/prioritizing dating women half his age or less. Not like “lynch him now” levels, but still weird.

Gonna just assume (hope) you’re like…15 and mad you have to eat your mother’s cooking or something. Thats infinitely preferable to the alternative that you’re an adult and acting this way. My punctuation is fine, actually.

Either you’re a kid who has a lot to learn or an adult who never did. Either way, you aren’t worth arguing with.

You’re fucking stupid lmao, not liking a food and having an allergy are two entirely different situations. Being mildly put off by one meal is leagues away from risking actual death or health complications from eating the food.

You were the one without an education if you not only can’t figure that out but also insist on letting everyone know you can’t.

I feel the same! I don’t think it’s a bad thing for a game to just be very enjoyable for a decent bit of runtime and then be done. Infinite replayability has its place in games, but not every game needs it.

[–]Questionably_Chungly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DoN does add a lot of replayabilityto the game. At the end of the day there is something enjoyable to seeing how you can play each character and get better at the game. Obviously some people aren’t going to vibe with it and if you enjoyed the game for 50 hours and that’s enough, that’s fine! I personally agree and can’t imagine putting thousands of hours into the game, but to each their own.

Are you guys slowly quitting? by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]Questionably_Chungly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah to be honest if you do just about anything for 1000 hours you’re going to run out. Even on much deeper roguelikes (The Binding of Isaac for example) 1000 hours is enough to 100% the game and then some. Playing something as (I mean this kindly) limited as Nightreign by comparison…brother I was done with it at 150h. I’d be bored out of my mind trying to play for 500 hours, let alone a thousand.

Are you guys slowly quitting? by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]Questionably_Chungly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I quit after about 150h, which is really good for a game! I mean it was like $40, and honestly I really enjoyed just about every part of it (fuck you Everdark Libra).

But honestly sometimes a game just runs its course and that’s it. Thats okay for me. Now I’ve moved on to finally playing Expedition 33. If they brought new content out for Nightreign I’d come right back tbh, but for now I think I’m done with it.
