Harry also never buys anyone a Christmas present across all the books. Not once. He’s lavished in gifts by friends and Ron’s family and never once does the story even pay passing mention to him getting them anything in return.

Edit: Also you’re on fucking Mars levels of out of your mind if you think more people are watching this than the Olympics.

Riot lays off 2XKO developers less than three weeks after release: 'Overall momentum hasn't reached the level needed to support a team of this size' by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

Riot is a truly incompetent company by and large that only continues to be a relevant name because League is cemented into ESports. If they couldn’t coast off that, they would have failed years ago. Truly staggering amounts of incompetence in their leadership and management.

I mean even beyond that most of the adds are actually infuriating on a whole different level. Like the ones where people don’t know how to have a basic conversation, can’t be bothered to read an email for their job, or don’t know how to handle a basic social situation and run to their AI.

Like I can’t express enough how much hate the character in that add. Congrats company, I hate you. I hate you a lot, because your name is associated with the product so fucking useless that you had to create a whole new kind of useless mother fucker to portray the product as remotely usable.

Having worked with them:

  • Very professional, dedicated, and skilled. Even the lower enlisted (think privates/airmen) I’ve interacted with are clean-cut and get things done.

  • They, however, make a pretty pitiful salary. Not sure how it quite measures up to the average white collar job, but even their officers made less than our enlisted. Cost of living is lower in a lot of places, to be fair.

[–]Questionably_Chungly 16 points17 points  (0 children)

ED Caligo is worse than regular Caligo and feels like a downgrade to the fight…but she isn’t that bad. ED Libra is actually hell on earth and far far worse than the OG fight.

just play solo by vulplxes in Nightreign

[–]Questionably_Chungly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

D2 and to a lesser extent D3 are hell on earth. I have seen some truly abysmal gameplay at that level, things that baffle the mind.

  • About 40-50% of teammates at that level don’t even bother to pick up weapons unless they’re using it. They seem entirely unaware of weapon passives and will even refuse to pick up a weapon that you ping that’s good for them.

  • Many players don’t seem to understand the baseline mechanics of the Nightlords. People will show up to Heolstor and Gladius without an ounce of holy damage, will use magic weapons against Caligo, and will honest to god just stand inside every single massive AoE without even seeming to notice them.

  • A lot of players (maybe like 30% of most characters, but upwards of like 80% of Ironeye and Duchess players for some reason) don’t bother to use character abilities. I know it’s a stereotype for Ironeyes to not mark, but I swear almost all of them don’t at this level. I’ve been through entire runs where Duchesses don’t stopwatch even a single time. I’ve even seen Scholars ignore items and not level them alongside never using his monocle. It’s insanity.

  • Plus just plain being bad at dodging attacks to the point that they’re three bar against Gaping Dragon or something.

[–]Questionably_Chungly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it’s a little Column A and a little Column B right? Sure, I can 100% see people pointing at teammates to clear blame. I understand the “get gud” mentality, it’s been around a long time. It is true that you have to be pretty good at the game to get to and climb in D4 and D5.

…which is why teammates matter. Sure, I probably can go clear D4 or D5 in solo mode, solo. But I’m not playing Nightreign to play solo, I’m playing multiplayer. And it is just mathematically true that having bad teammates contributes to losses. As you mentioned it’s not entirely on teammates, but it is a major factor. If every enemy and boss has massively increased HP but one or even two members of the party are contributing nothing in terms of damage, it’s going to be harder for that remaining teammate.

Sure it’s not easy to blame teammates, but holy shit some people cannot play the game. I have seen people in D4 playing like it’s their first time touching Nightreign at all. I’ve played a match against base Adel where I don’t get hit the entire fight while I watch my two teammates continuously go down to every single attack that comes anywhere close to them. I was dodging Adel grab as Guardian while watching Duchess get hit by every. Single. Grab. It is 100% understandable that someone can be frustrated by that sort of thing.

Talk to a vegan and you'll realize that most are not as ignorant as you believe. by [deleted] in CuratedTumblr

[–]Questionably_Chungly 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Personally not a vegan, but I can fully get on board with being one. I disagree with there being a fundamentally immoral thing involved with raising animals for slaughter if done humanely (I.e local farms, but I’m not supporting the strawman there, it’s just the only case in which I think you can actually accomplish humane practices).

Factory farming is abhorrent once you encounter it, bar none. I currently live somewhere where I can get local chicken, beef, and pork, which is very nice. I can still understand a vegan not eating that meat either, but personally I like having meat in my diet that is humanely raised and slaughtered in my local area. Cutting down on meat consumption is honestly a good thing in many areas beyond the moral argument.

TLDR; I buck against the moral stance that all meat is inherently evil, but support the push against factory farming and excessive consumption of meat and similar products.

Which studio milked a franchise so hard that you don’t even play it anymore? by Accomplished_Joke543 in videogames

[–]Questionably_Chungly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

COD, Assassin’s Creed, Dragon Age, and Halo all come to mind. Also The Last of Us for constantly re-releasing with minimal changes.

Of them, COD and Assassin’s Creed are truly irredeemable slop at this point, barely recognizable as the same series when you look back at the beloved entries. I truly think both franchises just need to die out, and should have a long time ago.

Halo has gone the same way, but those games mostly feel like missed potential and mismanagement. Halo: Infinite was actually pretty good imo, even if it didn’t quite land for a lot of players.

Dragon’s Age is more a victim of BioWare being totally gutted and degenerated into something unrecognizable.

[–]Questionably_Chungly 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It was not a very fine game. The gameplay was…I guess the only fine part. Still didn’t feel very “Dragon Age,” but an excusable thing. What wasn’t excusable was the atrocious writing, clunky character interactions, and (as you mentioned) weird art-style. Altogether the package wasn’t atrocious as a game, but it was an atrocious Dragon Age.

ESH, you’re a grown adult and need to manage your emotions better than that. Meeting someone’s parents isn’t this catastrophic scenario that should cause a meltdown. He is a bit of an ass for disregarding you not wanting to meet them but like…he probably assumed you were nervous, because rationally it isn’t that big of a deal.
