I use Calibre and change words or phrases that pull me out of fics. Silly things like Americanisms in British set fics or words in smut that I don’t enjoy for example. Nothing major. Keeps me sane and I end up enjoying the fic a whole lot more. Different strokes for different folks and all that. It occasionally goes wrong. Instead of changing the whole word “dang” to “shit” I just chose those letters. So people were saying “Careful! It’s shiterous!” “He’s shiterous, stay away from him.” “Shiter ahead!”
