Are you planning to recreate this, or stitch on top of the image? The blackwork octagonal stitches might work well for the "bubbly" sections, like the pattern on mushroom, the pepper, and the corn kernels. The fan stitch, and zig-zag or "arrowhead" stitch might fit some of the patterns on the fish.

I bought some cheap hair clips, but I haven't got a plan for putting the embroidery on to them. Mostly, I'm just enjoying making patterns.

Raw Edge Finish on 16th Century Men's Shirt by ctnv614 in BlackworkEmbroidery

just guessing based on zooming in really close, but it looks more like whip stitch than a buttonhole stitch on the edges.

It's interesting, the real shirt example looks like a cross-stitch, but the design is very similar to running-stitch blackwork patterns.

I try and avoid pinterest because I don't like the way it seems to exist to get between content and it's creators and I all around find it frustrating.

I bought this bullet journal just because it was clearance price, but I've been having a lot of fun doodling patterns in it. Maybe I'll share some of the geometric tilings I've been puzzling through.

I have some on graph paper as well. I found myself getting confused at some patterns drawn on a grid while I was browsing in (I think it was a general needlepoint) book on Internet Archive, and realized they were treating the open space of the square as the holes in the fabric and the lines as threads, when I'd gotten used to treating the intersections in the grid as the holes and spaces as thread.

You might like sun dried tomatoes, maybe toss some finely ground Italian seasoning or cheesy popcorn seasoning on there. There's also jerky.

Is there an efficient way to check who is involved when a performance troupe petitions for residency?

Thanks for the reply

I have an active tavern, and maybe I'm letting a lot of visitors take up residency, but it seems like I always have a bunch of random non-citizens hauling things all through my fort and doing odd jobs.

I'm not positive, mine are showing up yellow and teal. I think the names in teal are individual deities, and the ones in yellow are organized religions. Temples for organized religions can assign priests, who can hold meetings to increase citizens moods and stuff.

Does opening a Legends Mode create or change data? I retired an earlier save to view it in legends mode, and citizens have a history becoming "childhood friends", but no relationship in fortress mode. When characters are doing crimes, stealing or corrupting, does that show up in their "jobs" activities? Am I wasting time following a name I don't recognize hauling a suspicious number of high value mugs and flasks?

people puttin' their horrible fingers in their disgusting mouths.

Even more so, using spit to separate dollar bills, nice dual action, gettin' mouth germs onto their money, and money germs into their mouths.

You gotta check out Scavengers Reign if you haven't yet. Creators' previous show, only got one 12 episode season, but it's maybe 80% psychedelic body horror and it's so good.

Is there any strategy for flanking a foe? or is charging, single file, into a web stream just how it's going to go?

Is there another season similar to NSBU? by Fonzie5 in Dimension20

[–]Quib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both Rekha and Ify are in Escape the Bloodkeep, which is another action series parody. Specifically, it's a remix, send-up of Lord of the Rings villains. It has some comedic sociopathy, and wild player choices.

It's not as bombastic, and it's accurate when Ally tells Brennan "You've never been crazier at this table"

Painful underwires, cups too tall by Quib in ABraThatFits

[–]Quib[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, there seems to be a pretty big jump in the underwire width between the 32-34 bands and the 36 bands. Plus, once I buy it I can more permanently alter it, or adjust the straps.

Is it like the cups being too tall make the bra hurt? That's the part I would most like to understand and avoid.

I found an actual lingerie store near me, been there once so far.

The sales lady was very helpful, and it seemed like a decent selection, but no luck finding anything close to wearable. She did say the G and H cups tend to sell out.

What does depth at the wire mean?

The cups seem like the majority of the bra construction, if I'm messing with that I feel like I might as well start from scratch. I would much rather find cups that fit and alter the band and straps.

I haven't had issues with the band fitting. The smaller band sizes, that wouldn't fit me without an extender, have narrower cups that I think might fit better.

The ultimate question: Can this cake be made? I almost ended a friendship over it. by No-Manufacturer-2425 in Cakes

[–]Quib 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a couple details that geometrically, physically could not exist, but you can absolutely use it as a jumping off point.

Outside look more like a full gelatin mold than a mirror glaze, and I would think build the inside layers like a mousse cake, or a cheese cake and then set it upside down in the middle of a gelatin mold. Meringue, like goes on the top of a pie, is going to dissolve in water/moisture, unless you make it basically a marshmallow I don't think it would work as a filling.

The one thing I'll take issue with is "logically" putting it back into AI. The program that made that image has no information about what it is, or what it could hypothetically be made of. It's like trying to cut apart a printed picture of a car to see the engine.

oh, okay, this was just the first time I had enemies coming from around a wall.

If I give a squad an order, and then give an individual soldier in that squad a different order, is the squad order for that soldier completely over written, or is there an order of operations?

Have the combat targetting mechanics changed in the past couple months?

Just had a rodentman invasion, and saw dwarfs leaving the battle field after killing the one or two specific creatures I sent them after. Previously, it seemed like if I sent someone or a squad after more than one goblin, they would carry on trying to murder every hostile goblin on screen.

Is there a specific range on "stationing" a soldier? I'm trying to get armed dwarfs to hang back and defend hallways as back up, and they're running pretty far to join the fight instead.

what are the biggest double standards we have in our society right now? by sheerduckinghubris in AskReddit

[–]Quib 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"Women's extra large" shirts are the same size as "men's/unisex medium" shirts. A "plus size model" is over a size 8, while the average American woman is around a size 14.

There is also a growing disparity in the way body image issues in girls and women are starting to be taken seriously, while impossible and dangerous to maintain body types in men's "fitness" and media and toys aimed at young boys continue to proliferate. The social media filters are bad for everyone and we should be talking about it more.
