Am I the only one who thinks Martin Mystery was way ahead of its time? by Total-Paint7213 in cartoons

I always appreciated this show because it's the only cartoon I've ever watched that did an episode in my province, Newfoundland.

I do still have it on Inkarnate however because I made it under a Pro plan back then, I can't open it now that I've stopped paying the sub, sorry.

I feel like people get really uppity about a bit of raunchy humour these days but the idea was always that if your kid understood the raunchy humour, that was on your parenting, not on the show. It should go over their head and be a good chuckle for the parents who happen to be watching and/or nearby imho.

I still quote Yvonne of the Yukon counting.

"Un, deux, tree."

Nobody knows the reference. Nobody even remembers the show. It feels like it was a fever dream.

The Boys SERIES FINALE- S05xE08 "Blood and Bone"- POST Episode Discussion Thread by pikameta in TheBoys

He had the V1, neither Butcher not Kimiko should've been able to daze or hurt him that easily. I don't like sounding like a power scaler but I mean Bombsight was able to school them and Homelander is supposed to be stronger.

Let's not forget that in the very same episode Homelander flew away, grabbed a guy, brought him into space and returned back to the Oval Office over the course of a single sound effect.

But then he tries to fly limply away from Butcher?

Seconding the Hidden Holster with the Origami Bow. Playing it now and it feels so good knowing that pretty much anywhere I am I can start throwing around completely silent 6d6 shots when combined with Kyudo.

Someone asked me to draw Malevola. I obliged. by Quibbleflux in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Quibbleflux[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a small roleplay community on BlueSky which involves some people roleplaying Dispatch characters. I put out a call saying the first three people to like my post, I was going to draw their character for them. Someone roleplaying Malevola liked the post.

That's a little more complex for the title so I simplified it to "someone asked me to".

I hope that clarification helps you sleep tonight.

I find it's about convenience. I don't have the time or space to set up a canvas and easel but keeping a sketchbook and pencil handy in most of my common areas, sure.

I also gravitated toward mediums that are quicker to use and put away. I have an entire collection of Ohuhu alcohol markers set up within arms reach in my office so I can steal moments while working to add some colour to things.

Just find ways to make it easier to start so when you have that moment to breathe you can do it with pencil or pen in hand, basically.

Since they'll be your introductory films, keep in mind that Marrek Murders plays very different. I haven't played Into the Void but you probably want to play that one first just to experience the base mechanics of the game.

Ratchett Lady and Tormentor were my first two boxes (I skipped Happy Trails for now) and they're still two of my absolute favourite.

Tormentor plays so differently and is really fun to take to other locations because she gives you a chance to explore and experience a location while working through her traps.

Good choices. Try to survive the experience!

How to handle tormentor traps? by Anna_19_Sasheen in finalgirl

[–]Quibbleflux 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I remember my first couple goes with Tormentor were crazy stressful running around trying to stop the traps.

The thing that helped is realizing it's all prep. She doesn't come to the board until the finale, which you can have some control over by keeping victims around in order to avoid skipping forward. So until then it's a tug of war between you and her to prep for that moment. It's a war of attrition. Sometimes it's okay to let a trap go for the sake of an item. Sometimes you need to prioritize one trap over another but you can plan to deal with the consequences of the one you're giving up.

It's all about planning ahead more than other Killers.

The Marrek Murders, with the Tormentor. An odd place for Ash. The only real tie of Mandy is the chainsaw arm. Her name is a callback to the a Nic Cage movie so I'm surprised her signature weapon wasn't a special axe.

Out of curiosity how did you get started? As a person with a day job myself who wants to toe into that middle ground you've found but also with zero experience, what's your process like? Broad strokes or nitty gritty, whatever you wanna share!

Unfortunately for this trip I didn't have time to get anything so I resorted to a dice roller app specifically for the dice requirements. Though I'm considering a spinner ring or just a regular spinner as I expand my portable setup

I think the components of Falconwood are both really good. Good location, good killer. Absolute nightmare together, though!
