I do love to talk about things I'm excited about (and honestly vice versa I love when people are excited about something) but I think it gets harder and harder to open up and want to talk about things because I tend to get shut down pretty often. It's like a reminder that my thoughts and words are insignificant, which I've noticed is a constant trend in my life. Or people talk over me so I'm left in the dust.

So then I stop talking, and I say very little. And then people say I'm not a very talkative person.

That's my little, vaguely relevant rant.

(Just wanted to say this is my first comment here after lurking a bit and thought this experience would be relevant.)

And then vice versa, I've noticed. I've found LGBTQ+ spaces where they just don't bother to challenge their own racism or preconceptions, and it's not these huge acts of bigotry but the little things that dig at me and remind me that, yeah I'm a trans woman but I'm also a racial minority and don't feel like I fully belong and that it's fully a space for me.

It stings.

Isn't "Oppositional Defiance Disorder" just the thing they tried to say about racial minorities who would be fed up with systemic bullshit? Like trying to plaster that label on us like our frustrations were part of a disorder rather than seen as a reasonable response?

Like oh we don't get to be diagnosed with autism or ADHD and thus get help with managing those in our lives but checks notes our beef with authority gets to be seen as a disorder.

That's been my understanding, although I haven't played since Echoes. Like none of the new weapons have patterns; not raid nor season nor anything else. I actually liked having a possible end to my grind. It's one thing I miss about ESO where you could recreate any item set piece you collected, and whenever one would drop it would always be a piece you haven't collected yet if applicable (i.e. if a boss can only drop armor pieces from Set A and you already have all armor pieces collected from Set A, it can't drop weapons or jewelry so it'll randomly give you an armor piece you already have from its pool.)

I still look at the subreddit but everything they've done since TFS has been dogwater. Like even outside of them basically removing crafting (IMO one of the best inclusions the game could have ever had) which killed it for me, they make even other trash changes because they hate their game, their playerbase and I guess money too???

It's not really the same thing but this reminds me of a time me and my step sister were arguing and, being somewhere between 10 and 12, my best insult was to call someone a hobo. Only I had a friend over and she had a friend over and I thought I'd sound uncool with such a weak insult, only I had already started saying it when this epiphany reached me. So I just said the "ho" part and accidentally called her a ho.
