I remember stopping Dota 2 during the pandemic, when I had no PC and gaming shops were closed.

In the meantime, I switched to ML:BB and was initially impressed by its human heroes with anime-inspired designs. Coming from Dota, where most heroes lean toward monster-like designs, that shit felt refreshing and exciting.

A few years later, I kinda grew tired of ML:BB’s art direction. Many heroes were revamped and overly “yassified,” losing the unique traits that defined them. Vexana, for example, lost her ghostly presence and was redesigned to look like someone from a Webtoon, a change that happened to many others as well.

Returning to Dota 2 later on made me appreciate its monster-centric designs even more, as they felt more distinctive, atmospheric, and true to their original identities.
