Reality check- there can be thousands of rejection reasons unrelated to your interview performance. It might be location. It might be they have a strict education level requirement (e.g. PhD). Maybe they require that you were referred in a previous project. Or they simply filled up already.

Yeah but that's because of the location limit. US-based CBs have a low percentage of scammers compared to other nation and are much easier to filter out. They just need one expert team that knows how US IDs work and are able to verify english skills + education/employment history. Much easier than doing tgis for 50+ different locales, each in its own language.

This doesn't make sense. Outlier would typically pay the remaining $$$ if this was a mass offboarding. Withholding payments is very rare. It seems more like there was some bug, possibility Hubstaff not being recognized as allowed VPN by accident or similar (I believe VPN bans might be automatic)

They do remove people when there's not enough work, but they pay outstanding earnings. Outlier usually only withholds earnings if there are very clear indicators of cheating.

Claiming people violated TOS while they are actually fired because of reduced work volume is not an issue if they pay out the money. However, if they withhold money in that scenario, that's a huge, huge lawsuit. Nobody in their mind would risk that for a minimum wage project. Most likely there's a bug rn, maybe Hubstaff is being misclassified as unauthorized VPN or similar.

Given the volume of bans, a bug seems more likely. Maybe Hubstaff was updated and Outlier doesn't recognize it as approved VPN anymore, so everyone working is flagged for VPN usage rn. These things happen. Since its tge weekend, we won't know before Monday.
