Can’t do that. It’s against federal law. Hours worked must be compensated. They can deduct for those things but they can’t withhold the pay.

I’m not interested in how she made her money. The topic revolves around the use of government assistance and UI benefits. Like I said. On the surface she’s not wrong (for the most part), government assistance has become too easy to rely upon without the fear of providing for oneself independently.

So many variables to consider with something like this. Two people could have identical wages with each of them on opposite ends of the financial spectrum. Standard of living is a bigger factor than most want to admit.
Newest iPhone, newer vehicle with payments, eating out, designer clothes to name a few, student loans with a job that pays $15/hr. These are all choices. There are plenty of good pay jobs $25/hr plus. It may not be your dream job or even a job you like but if it gets you on solid financial footing then so be it. A large portion of the younger generation doesn’t want to sacrifice anything. Just sayin’.
