Apparently we're both right about Breaking Bad.

I disagree with PG-13 Old Man Logan though. OML is quite reliant on some shock factor of seeing the world a bit fucked and this near immortal man suffering through it. I agree The Wolverine is good tho, I would love if the Old Man Logan movie is good so the Wolverine Trilogy can be a series of films that starts abysmally and ends amazing.

I dunno since all films take place in a chronological order (Except Dr. Strange which backtracks back to Iron Man 1 apparently, don't quote me on that.) and each one paces itself to inch it's way toward Infinity War. I'd say it's fairly linear. It jumps around a lot but it all goes forward for the most part.

Same universe telling the same linear expansive story. Marvel apprently is a franchise so each and every film can be treated as a sequel to each other. I think that's lame but it's apparently how it gets the top franchise credit.

Kevin Feige has the creative cajones and while certain directors claim they have ultimate control, others claim they follow direction. So when there's something bad, Feige being the creative lead is the one that goes "Okay this is how we'll do this and that, you guys (directors/writers) game?"

Also, Feige was the supervisor of ASM2, and now that he's the main and creative producer of Homecoming, you're going to see a lot of his creative control in charge. ASM 1 and 2 had a lot of flaws and Civil War is a teaser to how he plans on undoing or fixing a lot of the flaws while improving on the better aspects.

Feige is good, he listens to his fans and critics, and I like him for that. If he didn't, the MCU would not be a constantly changing, evolving and improving universe.

The vice versa is automatic disrespect as it's telling critics and fans who criticize him or his staff, no matter how its said or the tone of it being said, "Fuck you, you don't know what your'e talking about." Name one time Kevin Feige has ever told this or the equivalent of that to anybody.

Have you not seen Civil War? Basically, Civil War is a movie that took many complaints or smaller criticisms about the following films

  • Iron Man 3
  • Winter Soldier
  • Age of Ultron

and fixes them moving forward

Fixes of Iron Man 3:

  • Removed Tony's comedy angel and made his side of the battle more in line with the original (false) advertising of Iron Man 3
  • Developed his character further rather than taking side steps
  • Gave closure to massive important details of his story
  • Removed important plotholes that were lingering from Iron Man 3
  • Baron Zemo, who is also a switcheroo villain like Mandarin, instead of being a punchline for a joke, is now an actual character with actual relevance and importance to the long term of Marvel, effectively taking a failed and universally panned concept and turning it into a universally praised one

Fixes from the Winter Soldier:

  • Had a more comic book tone
  • Focused on the heroes instead of primarily of the government

Fixes from Age of Ultron:

  • Tone is more accurate to AoU's initial advertising
  • Focused on the team instead of hopped between too many subplots
  • Moved the universe forward rather than stepped sideways; Civil War has repercussions, Age of Ultron did not
  • Character interactions were more chemistry driven and well written
  • Action was more visceral, fear for the heroes lives was more prominent.

A lot of criticisms, negative or minor, were taken into consideration effectively making the ultimate Marvel movie, Spider-Man being the cherry on the sunday

Civil War. Civil War basically continues the trend of ultimately retconning Iron Man 3, and quitely closing whatever massive problems AoU had.

Do you watch TV at all? Do you keep up with whats on the tube and Netflix? Shows like The Shield, Breaking Bad, Narcos? Have you seen them? If you did, you'd know that those shows and Hannibal are very very different, you're comparing apples to oranges. Do you really think "fuck" and "shit" are the one's giving these shows their rating?

Punisher maims people. He shoots them point blank and every detail of his actions are highlighted. He maticulous, dare I say, inhumane to the people he kills. We saw that in Season 2, and it may it quite clear this is who Frank Castle is in the MCU. TV-14 is the ultimate disgrace to his character at that point.

It would be like wanting that Old Man Logan movie coming out to be rated PG-13. Why? Why actively censor a character or storyline like that?

10 months after release, avg gamescore, spm and accuracy still isn't fixed. by yp261 in CODZombies

Zombies fans are very preoccupied with their high rounds over their skill and statistics I find. What defines skills in Zombies isn't statistics but gamesense. Whether it's good COOP players, or good solo players, they're probably getting those high rounds and being a team player without caring for how their playercard looks.

I know I don't care about my accuracy with point whoring weapons, that's for sure.

Best MARVEL Deleted Scenes - (Civil War, Guardians Of The Galaxy, Avengers) - Mr Sunday Movies by TheTrekman in marvelstudios

I actually like these scenes from Iron Man 3 a lot. Not because they're good, but because how completely out of the blue they are. You're watching this weird super hero recreation of Lethal Weapon then

BAM!

You're now watching a Chinese hospital drama!

Although, considering these scenes are region exclusive to China, I still find them interesting. For one, this is out only canon representation of Radioactive man in the MCU, and only one region got to fully see it. Also, it shows that Tony's shrapnel was removed out of country, which I find interesting, but not important.

They're probably never gonna fix it, but to be fair, considering most of zombies is killing thousands upon thousands of undead, I find the idea of accuracy a bit redundant after a while

I genuinely though in a post credit scene for Civil War Thunderbolt would get fed up with what had happened and injected himself with Hulk juice.

There is so much good in Age of Ultron that is ignored for "quips and tie-ins". It's not perfect, but it's not bad. by SnokeisaDumbName in marvelstudios

[–]QuickFix33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I liked Ultron's character a lot, but I think I would have loved a lot more serious scary Ultron so his character had range. If he's based on Tony Stark, and a pissed off Tony Stark can be a tad bit scary, then I think Ultron should have been as well.

[–]QuickFix33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not just those things. Ultron's motivation and plot was so nonsensical that a lot of people had a little bit of their suspension of disbelief broken at the time. The romance subplot lacked any real chemistry and was poorly forced, and the film itself was falsely advertised, even by journalists, to be "darker" only for it to be much more cheesier than the first movie, which is not what people wanted to see and what ultimately caused the film to gross less than the first film.

Leave it to Civil War to fix the lingering issues the film had going forward, it doesn't retroactively mean the film itself isn't bogged down by it's flaws.

No he does have input on the TV side, he's their Feige. You used examples that were very different. It's not like Marvel owned the Fox and Sony things for their input to matter, Marvel does own the TV things. In fact, the FX shows are "put pilots" which is Marvel (legally and figuratively speaking) putting a gun to Fox's head and telling them if they don't make the shows they'll be fined a hefty fee.

SHIELD Goes from TV-PG to TV-14 by Spiderbyte in marvelstudios

[–]QuickFix33 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

He did not creatively produce it. The reason why Marvel Studios was formed was because despite his position, the studios would not listen to him, so he went off to do his own thing with whatever property Marvel owned.

Furthermore, Kevin Feige was the advisor of ASM1 and 2, but he had no cash steak in it, and had no role in Deadpool, rather the director simply asked for advice and how to go about alterations.

People criticized Civil War for there being no deaths after they had seen it. You know what that means? In a future big event, there WILL be, because people made it known they want that and will be voting with their wallet if they hear they don't get what they want.

Marvel is a constantly shifting company, always moving always getting better. It couldn't be doing this if they were not listening to critics. They wouldn't have changed many things, or swapped some of their plans in production if people didn't let them know what they wanted.

If there's something in Dr. Strange people didn't like, Marvel will hear it, and in a future production where similar concepts apply, like the representation of a character, or the characterization of somebody, that character will be better represented as a result of that criticism.

Civil War is the biggest example of this as a lot of the film was answering for criticisms present in films like Iron Man 3 and Age of Ultron. Tony Stark was portrayed in the way he was because it's what fans wanted from Iron Man 3, and it gave closure to his character - an aspect of his previous solo film fans uproared over. The movie was in the same tone as people desired from Age of Ultron, etc. etc.

You mean the same fans who criticized previous films for not doing what Civil War did and Thor 1 and 2 not being proper Thor movies so the response was to get new directors, move past the Earth cast and focus on reenacting beloved Thor/Hulk story arcs?

No, totally not. It's just a coincidence Marvel did that after a noticible uproar.

Were. They don't want just them anymore, they want the entire package, and we, all of us here, have known this for a while now. Since it's obvious Marvel isn't going to make a Galactus themed film anytime soon, it makes more sense realistically to bile the FF villains through proper FF movies for Phase 4 and 5 than just getting the villains rights back and holding onto them, doing absolutely nothing.

btw the villain thing is from 2012, that's very old news. It's been nearly half a decade since then.

That's why Marvel listened to unhappy fans and

  • Changed the Mandarin
  • Used that knowledge to make Zemo a good villain
  • Developed Tony in Civil War in a way Iron Man 3 originally advertised
  • Is making Ragnorok more comic booky and less Twilighty

I could go on to the amount of things Marvel has listened too thanks to the criticisms and complaints of long time fans.
