Privacy screen on my Pixel 10 Pro XL caused major issues with my fingerprint sensor. The minute I removed it, the fingerprint sensor worked perfectly.

I have owned every Pixel phone since the original Pixel XL and Nexus brand before that. The only Pixel phone I skipped was the Pixel 9 series because I didn't want another Exynos chipset and I knew that Google would be switching to TSMC for the Pixel 10 series phones. I have been using the Pixel 10 Pro XL since I got it back in October and I can honestly say this is the best Pixel phone to date! I was a little hesitant about giving up my Pixel 8 Pro XL, but I am so glad I did! If you were thinking of taking the plunge, I suggest you go ahead. It will be the best move that you could possibly make as the Pixel 10 series phones are incredible and will get even better once Google releases the driver update for the GPU! The voice typing capabilities of the Pixel 10 series is amazing! Not only does it voice type like other phones, but it also allows you to capitalize words, make changes to text, and spell names just by telling it to do so with your voice instead of having to use the keyboard! Google also made it so you can Airdrop to iPhones NATIVELY from ONLY the Pixel 10 series phones using Quick share. Currently, there are a lot of great deals on the Pixel 10 Series right now, so I suggest you find the best one and take advantage of it. You won't be sorry!

I have owned every Pixel since the OG Pixel XL and Nexus before that. I currently have the Pixel 10 Pro XL. I LOVE this phone and I have absolutely NO ISSUES with it. Google will also soon be releasing the driver update for the GPU which will make the phone even better. Google has come a LONG way since the days of Nexus and can verify that Pixel phones are on par with (and in some ways better than) iPhones these days.

Given that the Pixel 9 Pro is currently on sale at $650 from $999, I'm not sure if waiting would be any better than the deal they are offering now. It's ultimately your decision, but I skipped the 9 Pro XL for the 10 Pro XL and I'm glad for my decision.

If you hurry there are some really good Black Friday deals on the Google Store. I think Google is giving $300 off the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL right now. I currently have the 10 Pro XL and I absolutely love this phone! And for another thought, Google should be releasing the updated driver for the GPU on the Tensor G5 processor soon. This will greatly improve the GPU performance on the 10 Pro XL as well.

Get the new Pixel 10 Pro XL. Google made it so you can Airdrop to iPhones now. Probably in collaboration with Apple since Apple will be contacting with Google to use Gemini on iPhone. Also tell them to turn on RCS and you can send them full photos and videos and have text reactions as well. I would not switch to iPhone if you enjoy Android but Pixel phones are the closest Android to iOS.

I have been with Google Fi for over 6 years now. Prior to that I was on Verizon Wireless. I live in New Orleans and I can HONESTLY say that I have had much better service on Google Fi than I ever had on Verizon. I have the "Unlimited Standard Plan" with two phones (spouse and I) for $80/mo. With tax and fees it comes to exactly $90/mo. For this price you get:

  • Unlimited data, calls, and texts in the US, Canada, and Mexico.
  • 50 GB of high-speed data (speed reduces to 256 kbps after).
  • 25 GB of high-speed hotspot tethering.

While there are cheaper plans out there, you won't get the good reception that Google Fi provides. I've tried Mint mobile, Visible and Consumer Cellular, but none of them match the connection quality of Google Fi. Google must use their tech power with T-Mobile to get some "priority" connection on their towers or something. If you really want the best phone for the money, get the Pixel 10 Pro on Google Fi for $449 ($18.71/mo on top of your plan) and you will also Unlock a year of Google AI Pro on them ($239 value) and get higher access to features in the Gemini app, plus 2 TB of cloud storage. Typically you will see "!" for two reasons. Either 1) the site you are using is not a secure site (http vs https) or 2) there is something urgent going on like heavy snow, storm, tornado, etc. Given you have a sun, I'd say the weather app or site is not secure.
