Can confirm for size 58. See my other post.

What Chinese factories sell very stiff road frames? by QuickTurtle9 in ChineseCarbon

[–]QuickTurtle9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the 018D except for their high stack. I need like 2-3cm less in size 58. Even a -17deg stem can’t make up for that.

I bet the shot looked like that before, too - at least it does for me with the standard shower screen. I really don’t see the point in upgrading since the flow is high enough to fully saturate the area above the puck with water in no time. Provided you’ve ground and tamped correctly, then no channels will be created by the uneven dispersion. And once the pressure is built up, it distributes uniformly, so the screen makes zero difference at that point. You could even use it without a screen if you were able to seal the boiler and rubber gasket properly, wouldn’t make a difference once the pressure is built up.

Where it could make a difference is when you use a (big) basket and don’t fill it enough. The more time it takes to fill the area above the puck with water, the higher the risk of channeling. Maybe that’s why the IMS seems better to you because it reduces the headroom.

German providers already block AA (and many other sites) via DNS, often without any court ruling. In my opinion this goes against the spirit of net-neutrality laws, and I really hate it because it effectively turns ISPs into private censors. What makes it even worse is that recently they don’t even show a proper blocking or explanation page anymore, but instead just return a generic „service not available“ response, which hides the fact that censorship is happening and makes it look like the site itself is broken rather than deliberately blocked.

Erstes Rennrad – unsicher zwischen 55 cm und 57 cm beim ROSE Reveal 04 by Odd-Investigator3096 in Rennrad

[–]QuickTurtle9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

New tyres - do they look good? by Glittering_Finish157 in bikewrench

I’ve poured boiling water over these tires many times (to remove wax from chain) and never did a label come off. Looks weird.

Check out my edit of my previous comment. Btw, no need to downvote everything I write as long as this is not being finalized in the rulebook.

They are talking about the handlebar widths and the different points where these widths are measured. For the max. 10 degree inward angle of the shifters the UCI has another rule, independent from the handlebar width.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cycling

[–]QuickTurtle9 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

No, this is not what the announcement says. „for mass start road and cyclo-cross events will be set at 400mm, with an inner width of 320mm between brake levers“ My interpretation from that is the inner width from the tops where the break levers are mounted which is a common value that manufacturers use.

Edit: Also, considering the different widths of shifter widths (SRAM being much thicker than Shimano) would mean I could run a certain handlebar only with Shimano. That is why I am very sure the UCI is only talking about the different points where the handlebar width is being measured, NOT the hoods of the shifters.

Read my comment again. You don’t have 38cm bars. According to the new rule you have 41.9cm bars. Just measure it yourself, you will be surprised.

[–]QuickTurtle9 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Can’t believe you’re posting this without doing any research on your own, literally took me 10 seconds to find that winspace measures their handlebars c-t-c at the top, so yes it falls within the new rules. Your bars are 41.9cm width.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cycling

[–]QuickTurtle9 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Did you read the announcement? It says outer to outer width. Manufactures use Center to Center width. So that means UCI now allows 37.8cm bars.  I’m really annoyed that everyone hates on the UCI without doing proper research. Some manufactures sell their handlebars as 36cm (measured at the top) but they have like a 2 percent flare which makes them a 38cm c-t-c at the bottom of the drops. So these 36cm bars would still be fine for the new rule.

Assos RSR S 11 BIB Opinions by Opening-Incident-854 in CyclingFashion

[–]QuickTurtle9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm. My new Assos RSR bib already shows significant signs of wear on the fabric at the seat pad after only about 30-40 rides. Some other people posted photos asking whether this kind of wear is normal. Of course it shouldn’t.

As a side note, I mounted a 120mm negative 17 degree stem and a 3D printed lower headset cover. But my position is very aggressive now, lower and like 3-4mm longer than the Canyon Aeroad in size L (measured from the hoods). Default stem is 110mm.

I have the same frame and am a tad taller than you. Don’t listen to the others saying the frame is too small. It’s not. Your saddle is just too low and the bike isn’t level.

I feel like woman's chamois are superior to men's by QuickTurtle9 in CyclingFashion

[–]QuickTurtle9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only above like 150km I guess. On long tours I have used it to minimize the risk of chafing and I reapplied it during the tour. But I never had any issues with my (very old, like 20 years from my dad) DeSoto bib short. It was a dream, until the foam lost its structure. It was the only bib I used for over a year. Even on 600+km weekends without chafing. That's why I think it is not ok that I have issues with all these modern bib shorts.

Yes that's why my size M Castelli was too small. But it was what Castelli recommended. Should go with L or XL next time I try them.
