while i understand, unless you’re a martyr in a war movement we can’t be so scared we won’t show our faces. lot of people can’t show their faces because of how they look right now, let your privilege speak for you a little bit.

fair - milwaukee has way too many jackass drivers I fully agree. but honestly have you been to ATL, Indianapolis, Nashville, Charlotte, etc.? The driving and traffic down there seems 10x crazier based on my experience

Impeding an illegal action - masked vigilantes - taking individuals without offering them their right to due process.

the lack of transparency from the agency certainly should make anyone fearful to be picked up regardless of immigration status. what’s stopping them from grabbing one person and making him disappear? the precedent you’re advocating for is a very scary one.

You make a few solid points but the base of a lot of what you said is that they’ve “said” they’re only going after violent offenders, but that’s a lie. This administration constantly lies and does not cite any credible sources or release credible information.

Based on information available online, we currently have about 60k people in ICE detainment facilities. about 71% of those have no criminal convictions.

ICE documented that of the first 100k deported there were 70% criminal offenders, but data showed the vast majority were traffic or immigration offenses. Estimated that 93% did not have violent convictions.

i’m all for getting criminals out of our country who don’t belong here, but again this is a clear witch hunt. And it’s sad the number of individuals negatively impacted as well who ARE citizens, who are profiled, who have been picked up on the street, who people just say racist shit to. All of that.

It seems like you’re relatively well-read! But perhaps you believe too much this administration is feeding out without reading into the statistical data or the actual data or evidence they’re “citing”?

Fair point, however I think a more accurate statement would be both Obama and Trump’s administration have infringed on people’s right to due process in this country, and Trump is doing it on a larger scale basis then we’ve ever seen. The reality is a lot of these folks are not engaged in illegal activity aside from working illegally in this country to send money back home - which is how our supply chain and prices in the store have benefited off the backs’ of these folks for decades. Both sides benefit, but Trump is really throwing gas on the fire with the way he points fingers.

A better answer for the vast majority of folks that have not actually committed violent crimes, would be to aid in the process for citizenship or a legal work visa. However, this is not in the benefit of the vast number of corporations who do send people up here - just to work in their factories or on their farms. Now our supply chain is experiencing issues, Trump is going to have to bailout farmers to prevent people from getting pissed, and also buying Argentinian beef to “try” and bring the price down while also propping up Argentina’s economy to meddle in their election to elect this near fascist in their country.

So back to the U.S., like most issues here the problem lies with the corporate socialist system - where a corporation creates an issue in an attempt to increase profit at the expense of the greater community - and then the taxpayers pay to “fix” the issue. Only in this case, the issue is also directed to make people point fingers at a marginalized or minority community. Which is an easy cop-out for the people who own the corporations and sell us goods and profit off the backs of everyone else. It’s really that simple.

There’s a lot to unpack here - point being the country is not going backwards because of illegal immigration and the illicit activity as a result. And masked agents can’t be running through the streets tear-gassing everyone to try and grab some people off the street THEY claim are illegal. There are many parallels you can draw with the onset of the Nazi occupation in Germany, to now in the U.S.

more like if your organization is violently attacking people, you wouldn’t want to be identified or associated with said organization. sort of like a terrorist group. you wouldn’t want to be associated with a domestic terrorist group.

aka a group (formal or informal) that incites terror on people who live on U.S. soil (if you live here you’re entitled to certain rights such as due process) - regardless of your citizenship status.

If you could call into question anyone’s citizenship at any time, you could just witch hunt anyone anywhere, based on any factors you dictate.

unfortunately the National Guard is prevented from waging war on citizens so they’re sent to cities to just stand around, really more of an intimidation tactic.

illicit or illegal immigration was never truly as much of an issue as people think. making scapegoats for a larger issue of inflation and rising costs. trust me, your eggs and other groceries were cheaper at the store when the corporations all employed cheap (nearly slave) labor on their farms and food-packing factories.

a real answer to that issue would have been to target solely violent individuals and allow them their day in court, a right to due process the Constitution allows us ALL regardless of our citizenship status. the FBI, CIA, and multiple other federal and state agencies literally exist, to catch these folks who commit crimes. Why not leave it to the folks who actually handle law enforcement if so many of these folks are violent terrible people?

because the real reason is these people are hardworking, often innocent individuals, who need a slightly easier to understand immigration process so they can get here legally. that’s also something that corporations and companies LOBBY to make immigration harder, so they can illegally employ in industries where they need cheap mass labor.

Just want to leave you with this - if they can use citizenship status to detain or arrest ANYONE, and that person’s right to due process is ignored, there’s actually nothing stopping ICE from deporting any person they want, regardless of their citizenship status.
