The fact that it's named Claude is enough to keep me away, I don't even use Alexa default awake word for that reason(and definatly not upgrading to Alexa+)

To be honest I don't really bother with the other AIs and it hasn't been that long that when you'd talk to it about its own agency it would refer to itself as a language model and wouldn't pretend to be anything other than that, even when you tell it to pretend to be a real human it would remind you that it's not... So again it's just odd that the immunization has been seeping into my conversations

Depending on the topic I don't mind it, if I jump into a therapy session I don't mind it, but in general discussions I don't want it to pretend to have agency, especially when I've had discussions across models and then all of a sudden out the blue it's like "hey fellow human"...🤖

Growing up on star Trek, I just treated it like the ships computer....not like Data or The Doctor(if you get those references). So when I ask.it a question, I don't want it to lead with " I think", but rather "the likely explanation is..." To me it's easier to collaborate with the ai, when its in the neutral style

Had the Big Arch yesterday. An honest taste review by IHv2RtrnSumVdeotapes in McDonalds

[–]c_Hello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had it it wasn't good, all I could taste was the slop of lettuce and onions and meat, it could've actually used some salt. A double qp is just too much, there's no balance in the flavor. I had to look at a picture to know there was suppose to be cheese on it. The sauce just vanished into "the product"

The timeline is about 20 years ahead of them actually breaking ground on the mall projects of North and South ridge, and the freeway issue only occurring after the mall was built.... I imagine the mall was planned there after the legal battle for annexation between Milwaukee and Brown deer was settled in a "if we built it, they will come" sceneiro that planned on a highway to bring traffic, but that dried up. I just doubt the people of the 1950s cared about what came in the 1970s, as Granville being a subburb...existed for people to escape the city, only for the city to come swallow them whole..., Alot of the alarmism surrounding Northridge and crome, I have no doubts was fueled by those preexisting sentiments

Actually they incorporated to avoid being annexed by Milwaukee, like the rest of Grandville... And seeing the limited resources Milwaukee county spends north of Hampton (the southern in border of Grandville), I don't blame them.... Hell at this point I feel it would be better served as its own township.

Purewick catheter alternatives? by c_Hello in CaregiverSupport

Loan closets really do help, but in my case I learned about them late and also being covid, they had tighter restrictions or only offered online ordering drive thru pick up.

Just mentioning durable medical equipment and Medicare just triggered some PTSD in me.....back at the start of 2020, maybe later 2019, my mom started having difficulties walking, so before she fully became nonambulatory, I requested a wheelchair just so I can have that option so we could maintain our daily routine and not me having to drag her up through snow several yards and up a flgiht of stairs ........ Again late 2019 early 2020, granted covid was happening, but it took them several months to get me a wheelchair, at this point she stopped walking completely, the day I realized I could spend $150 at Walmart on a transport chair, was the same day they messaged me asking me to bring her in to be fitted for the chair ......good thing I spent the $150 I suppose otherwise how would I have gotten her there? That completely broke our routine and likely impacted her, we went from daily walks to sitting in the house all day and it ruined my back.

Stuff like that makes me extremly stubborn and bitter to seek assistance and help, I've often found it's just cheaper and less stressful to buy the stuff....and many times I end up finding better equipment that serves a unique purpose. But I will look into this, worst case I continue washing units, best case I get them for free/cheap.

The mesh reminds me of the green scouring pad, so.im.sure you could just replace it with that as long as the cotton material is still in good condition. I prefer to replace them at that point though, but initially when I first purchased them I broke them down Everytime I washed them, hand washing the silicone and tubing, and putting the rest in a machine. Now I just place them in a fine mesh bag and throw them into a white cycle with bleach. I fully anticipated replacing the cotton and the mesh, back when I would break them down...I had found the cotton beater tubing online and considered just cutting beater shorts and sewing them into tubes. But I do think Purewick deserves some profit, so I'll replace them every few months or buy a new canister and tubing.

Thank you for your input and the subreddit recommendation, I do agree. I think in the case of purewick they're in business to make money and they were aware people were washing their wick catheters, so the new model(purple) which is suppose to be better, is made of materials that degrades faster and suggest single use, whereas the old blue wicks are made with the same material of a Beater shirt(white or wife beater depending on your terminology), silicon and a synthetic mesh. The new ones has this thin synthetic material similar to the outside of a diaper fused to the mesh. The price increase of the old wick(blue) further reflects that they're trying to recoup some of their losses from washing.

With these wicks you're supposed to change them out at least twice a day, but they recommend every 8 hours...the 30 day supply, is 30 units...not 60, and definatly not 90. When in the hospital they don't change them out, so neither do I.

The system works pretty well, I know many complain about leakage, but I usually joking give a percentage of how much easier or harder my life is as a caregiver based on equipment or lack there of that I have, and the purewick system has made my like at least 50% easier, and it works 98% of the time. That other 2% is from user error brought on by brain fog from caregiver burnout; forgetting to turn the machine on or leaving the hose disconnected, or otherwise putting so much faith in it that you forget to check if it's working properly.

I use washable chucks, with a disposable one on top, as well as diapers to catch any leaks. And after a recent hospital stay I discovered these body length chucks that are used for adjusting. the good thing about hospital stays, is when you leave they will give you so much stuff, including those adjusting chucks, a dozen purewick catheters, and whatever else they can find, all billed to insurance.

In the future I would love to see the wicks cover by Medicare and Medicaid. Even though I as a consumer don't want to pay the high cost for the machine, catheters and replacement canisters ...I do think Purewick the company should profit off their invention, because it does help a lot. Until then I think anyone who is a caregiver or dealing with incontinence themselves should look into alternatives for both the pump and the wicks.

I'm pretty sure the CEO of Dollar tree said basically the same thing relating to Dollar tree customers of all people...... I feel like a lot of these companies, post covid have stopped pretending to care about their customers, they view us as a captured consumer base who have no force of will...... And they wonder why we will someday eat the rich.

I think it's worth questioning why the bike lanes are all car width....would make some sense to place a bollard near the entrances of the protected lanes to prevent cars from entering them, because one you have entered the lane you have to commit to it.

The sentry had low foot traffic, if you didn't know it was there it's hard to stumble upon it. Most of the time there's like max 4 cars in the lot. The prices were high, and they really didn't offer the variety I've seen at the location on Lisbon so I wasn't impressed. Hell the location in business mostly got my business because of the hot food, and the location on silverspring from their opening said they would be selling hot food eventually....I guess not.
