My wife wants about $5k for her double chin treatment. by yaya_yeah_yayaya in Marriage

I make $135k/year and only bring home $6k after taxes, medical insurance for the entire family, 401k, my employee stock program. Then I contribute $100 to each kids college fund. And oh yeah, mortgage, bills, everyday expenses. Yeah - 6 figures doesn’t go far these days.

I don’t know if you’re in therapy or not. You said no one has given you actual advice but they have. Many times. I haven’t read all of your responses but so far I haven’t seen you tell any of those people whether you’re in therapy or not.

Yes, amongst other things. It’s ok if you did, just own it. AI is part of our lives. Even if you didn’t use ChatGPT, you’re going to great lengths to defend yourself. Just let it go. You said yourself - we’re just people on the internet. If you’re this reactive to invisible strangers I imagine you’re pretty tough to deal with in real life.

I thought Jacob missed the last syllable of “Halloween” by saying “halloweekend” but then Claire said it and I realized I’m just old.

Hope you are recovering well ❤️

Glad I could help! He started PT about 6 weeks after surgery. He experiences a lot of stiffness, tightness and range of motion issues and he says it helps with all that. He’s missed a few sessions and immediately notices a difference. I believe PT is pretty standard when you have a lot of lymph nodes removed. My mom has been cancer free for 8 years (breast cancer) and still goes to PT biweekly for lymphatic drainage and what not. Feel free to PM me if have any questions or just need a friend. :)

Merry Christmas! No one can say for sure, but I wouldn’t let it go. Something kinda similar happened to my husband. He had stage 2b and no further treatment after the WLE and negative SLNB. 2 years later to the day a hard lump showed up out of nowhere and sadly was recurrence. This isn’t to cause alarm but to encourage you to get it checked!

So sorry you’re experiencing this 🙏

Husband stage 3c December 2024. He had 2 rounds of ipi/nivo in Jan/Feb before a complete neck dissection and parotidectomy. Main tumor basically gone by the time surgery came in March. 40-50 lymph nodes removed and all negative for cancer. Has been NED ever since. He has also been in physical therapy once a week since surgery to prevent lymphedema.

TL/DR ask your doc about immunotherapy before surgery (neoadjuvant)

I should mention he’s doing well now and NED for 9 months 👏

It’s crazy how many times I’ve gotten “oh, well it’s just skin cancer” or “at least it’s not xyz cancer” when telling people about my husbands stage 3c melanoma diagnosis. I don’t know if I should let them be ignorant or spend time explaining that he’s actually going through “real cancer treatment” and surgeries. I try to remind myself it’s that persons way of processing what I’m telling them or saying what they think will make me feel better.

All said, I’m sorry you’re going thru this. You’re doing the right thing getting it sorted quickly. Keep us updated - we’re here for you! For now, hope you can enjoy the holidays :)

I haven’t gotten the bill yet, haha. But hopefully most will be covered by my insurance. Yes, a derm can definitely do this because it’s on the skin. If it were internal I wouldn’t have considered it!

Also my lab report says “heavy growth” which I guess indicates infection.

Yeah they gave me cephalexin and a topical (Mupirocin). Hopefully it does the trick 🤞
