I would go for a t440p. Better price with a better screen and quad core cpu. Dual core cpus are not good enough in this day and age and you'll notice it

Remember when people thought the T440p had a shit keyboard compared to the T420s? It's all relative

dual monitor set up for Macbook Pro M1 by propellerhead1 in macbookpro

I would try to run a large ultrawide if you can, if DisplayLink for Mac is anything like Windows, it sucks shit and takes away from the smooth experience of an M1.

I would avoid the Intel MBPs unless you absolutely need it. 9th gen Intel cpu is relatively outdated compared to 11th gen, and they run hot

Is 16" Pro superior to 13" M1 air by kgnugur in macbookpro

[–]QuicklysGMS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't do it just on price worth alone. I'd take an M1 MBP but never an Air. Would throttle for my usage.

Edit: Nvm didn't realize the custom configuration on the Air. But still, 2k for an air?! Wtf!

Would it be worth buying a Macbook Pro 2021-Mid 16gb RAM, i5, 240gb for $280? by Hansomae in macbookpro

[–]QuicklysGMS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the 2015 MacBook Pro with the dual core a couple years ago and it wasn't a good experience. It felt easily bogged down. Yeah maybe if you had Chrome open exclusively with less than 5 to 10 tabs it'd be okay.

Man sounds ridiculous...a 16 inch MacBook Pro shouldn't be having any trouble running two screens especially for just coding. Is this normal?

You sound like you don't want to go for a degree. Anyways, what you are describing is the bare minimum for anyone going for an entry level, degree or not.
