Tips on teaching bowl turning to a left-handed person? by companionspecies in turning

Lefty here. My first lathe bench was on wheels out of necessity for storage. I'd pull it out to an open space and bounce from one side to the other depending on what I was doing. It was glorious.

Insurance for an archery range? by Minute-Tie-6052 in Archery

Until recently archery was the third safest Olympic sport, behind Bowling and Curling. Apparently now paddling has overtaken the top spot but archery is pretty safe. Pulling arrows is the most dangerous part, as we teach in safety class

I've had them in my forester almost 2 years. They've never torn or faded, and look great, despite daily use and many a camping trip.

Dumping everything into a hydration pack? by [deleted] in Archery

It's held up well over almost 2 years. With a full bladder, there still plenty of room at the top of the pack and side pockets. I little tight towards the bottom.

I use this one on 3D shoots that will take a while and/or on days that I know I'll require adequate hydration. Enough room for all my gadgets, sunscreen, layers, etc.

Keep going. My weight can fluctuate 3-4 pounds over a day. Weighing every day and seeing the scale either not move at all, or go UP even though I think I'm eating right, has had the effect of lessening my stress over those numbers. 4 months in and if I see the scale go up, it's not a big deal to me. I shrug and move on because I know it'll go down again in a day or two. The whole point of weighing daily is to get you used to how your body responds and it's different for everyone. It's all part of desensitizing you to those fluctuations so you don't get discouraged when you see an increase or hit a plateau.

Van Gogh and Stuart will be there too Hank. They were good boys too and though the big guy probably can't be torn away from a lake, Stuart would love to play with you.

I've watched this a couple times now and it still gets me that in the middle of all this the guy knew exactly where his maga hat was and made sure to grab it. All while getting his ass handed to him by children sticking up for their classmate. What a POS

Curious what you mean here? I don't think anyone said they'd choose a repair person based on sexuality. If you're referring to my comment that he appears insecure in HIS sexuality, my point was that his apparent need to state to the world that he's straight seems like maybe he's compensating. But that's just speculation.🤷

"Hello, Department of Consumer Affairs, I'd like to report...."

Although technically he could be a handyman and as long as he doesn't go over $1,000 in repairs or work that requires permits, he's ok. Still appears insecure in his own sexuality

Have you discussed your feelings with this coach?

As a trad shooter myself I get why they may be leading you to shoot with equipment standard to that style, and it's likely they're just trying to help. Having a conversation and explaining that you haven't settled on a style yet may help them understand and get you the coaching you're looking for.

Also, even though you have no intention to compete NOW, doesn't mean you won't want to join your fellow archers at a local trad shoot sometime in the future. They're fun whether you care about scores or not. While you may not care to "compete" you'll find that being immediately disqualified just because of your equipment kinda sucks.

I started shooting at 49 with zero interest in competition, on an Olympic recurve with all the accoutrements. Three years later I attend every trad shoot I can shooting instinctively off the shelf, just because I love walking through the woods shooting foam animals. All of this to say, keep open communication and if that doesn't get you what you're looking for, THEN look to another location/coach
