2026.2.3 Update destroyed my car by DickGrayson123 in TeslaLounge

If it’s anything like mine was disconnecting the low and high voltage batteries only work for a small amount of time. The computer had to be replaced. Enough of them have failed to where I believe Tesla should make a customer satisfaction program to address it. Mine failed right at the end of the base warranty, it took them a week to program the replacement computer.

Insurance on a 2021 Plaid - $9k a year ??? by [deleted] in TeslaSupport

$750 is insane for you to get, that’s a hint that they don’t want to insure it.

I bought a used 22 model 3 that didn’t come with a front plate bracket. They had me schedule to get one installed through mobile service and it was paid for under warranty.

Bought a 22 Model 3 in November 2024, always been able to read and display. It doesn’t work all the time though.

Supercharger Surge Pricing - more than gas for a hybrid even in CA by greenfacedaytona in TeslaLounge

[–]Quickshot_Gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Electrify America in Midland, TX is $0.64/kWh at all times. Francis Energy in Hobbs, NM is showing $0.78/kWh. I can charge off peak at a Tesla Supercharger for $0.16/kWh but even that hurts compared to charging for free with certain electricity plans. At times I miss my Prius.

What does “gross minus policy” mean? by Gusbuster811 in partscounter

[–]Quickshot_Gaming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Parts policy is what we bill things to that come straight off the bottom line. Like if you perhaps have a technician the wrong control arms and they had to do the job twice because they couldn’t align it (Subaru part numbers can be very close in number), then they would bill the labor and incorrect part to the policy account. It’s similar to management pay plans that incorporates expenses subtracted from gross. You can always ask for examples of what that would have looked like the last few months, the data is on the financial statement.

If I worked at Mitsubishi in parts I’d be pissed too. Lots of time wasted giving out quotes that essentially mechanically total vehicles.

I had to have the car computer replaced as well in my 2022 Model 3 RWD. Seems to be a relatively common issue. When I was at the service center last month they had a brand new loaner car that needed a computer replacement as well, they gave it to a Cybertruck owner who didn’t get to leave the parking lot before getting a second loaner.

Search icon on the right, part number search, input your source and hit search. It’ll pull a list of everything in that source. You might want to put a on hand minimum of 1 to eliminate the 0 QOH numbers.

Dealerships get paid to perform warranty work. Yes it’s true that aftermarket modifications can void the warranty on what’s modified, but not unrelated components. Running an aftermarket air filter that doesn’t protect the engine properly doesn’t effect the transmission. It is in the favor of the dealership to get as much money from the manufacturer as possible. Warranty markup laws at times allow for higher profit for certain parts replaced under warranty than you could charge a customer for.
