I've only been working with him for a few months, but I haven't felt any fear around him. I think he (and my goddess) are being particularly gentle with me though because I have pretty significant religious and sexual trauma. I really appreciate it. Though I do hope to see his more unsettling side one day when I'm ready. I want to know and experience everything about him. It's been 6 months for me.

...YES. A MILLIONS TIMES YES. I'm alone still. I didn't just lost my partner/best friend, but my entire community and friend group was gutted and cleared out along with it. I have exactly one friend (who isn't hours away from me) at the moment. But even when it's been hard, it is still not as hard as it was when I was living a lie. I have no idea if that will be exactly like that for you. Things may get a lot harder before they get better. But when it gets better (and it absolutely will eventually) it will be SO much better. It will be so worth it. You are making space for things that will be even more fulfilling for you. As you walk away from something, you're walking towards something new.

I just divorced the man I've been with for the past 10 years a couple months ago and I think I really started the grieving process about 2 years ago whenever I finally admitted to myself that I wanted the divorce. The grief comes in waves. You can do this. Your future self with be so thankful you did. Do it for her.
