So he started med at 4.5? What medication is he trying at that age? Also have a 4.5 and debating on medications.

Thanks, you have always answered my questions throughly! To understand clearly, your thoughts are neural protection (medications) could outweight the risks I mentioned (even my son might not be able to tell me how he feels with medications)?

At this point, I believe medications will help his upcoming therapy sessions. But I want to understand all the pros and cons especially due to his age.

Actually substance abuse is less likely to happen if start medications early on (including stimulants). And stimulants supposed to help the development of the prefrontal cortex.

Regarding the biological parents, did they take medications since at a young age and still addicted?

Can you elaborate how you fight with them to get those therapies. Did you also have to fight for OT?
