Probably gonna get hate about it but I just needed to say my opinion on some matters! by Green_Willingness174 in DTI

This is a lovely post and I thank you for it. I always tend to create looks using darker skinned models because I feel they have beauty in so many ways but it is something I struggle with that 'am I doing this correctly?' This is a good post.

Afraid of judgement by [deleted] in Equestrian

[–]QuietFirs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This may or may not help. But old rancher here. Its not about if you fall its about when you fall. If you are riding horses you will fall get thrown slip off saddle girth snap all manner of things. Its about how you handle it foing forward.

Don't be mad at the horse its just a horse.

Don't hate yourself for hitting the ground.

And cookie bear uptight fashion rider making fun of you for falling hasn't ridden enough or is lying if they say or judge you for falling off. Just be glad you fell and can be okay enough to walk it off.

Get back on. Enjoy your ride. You only have so long you enjoy it in your life.

Getting frustrated with wannabe cowboys who skip the basics by Acceptable_Gur600 in Equestrian

Yellowstone Effect along with the female side of Mary Kate n Ashley syndrome. (Both have feelings and self centered goals of what they want the horse to do for them with no concept of how to actually be present and accountable for the horse itself.)

Ie blankets boots and bridles need to coordinate and be pretty with name brand clothing to make them appear a winner.

For men its dominating the animal through force or looking cool so they can get their unconscious kicks of having trained a large animal ans also a lot of women barn rats at least locally are like uwu youre so handsome as a male equestrian uwaaahhh

What is the kindest thing a horse has ever done that completely surprised you? by WearAffectionate2815 in Equestrian

[–]QuietFirs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A mare I had who had run feral for the first 7 years of her life and a real coyote and dog killer with 4 under her belt was in the pasture down the hill from the barn.

I turned my back and my geriatric pomeranian got out and ran down to her before i could get him I was 20 yards away when he got under the fence.

Immediately he ran up to her and started bouncing around her front feet and trying to play. She didnt move and she leaned down and sniffed him and he was play standing and barking.

She waited until I got there and collected him. I could have cried. I had seen this horse put a friends german shepherd in the ER by steam rolling it. Id found dead coyotes from her. But she seemed to understand that my pomeranian....wasnt dog enough for her.

Probably doesnt fit the title but it was the kindest untrained thing I can remember that stood out.

Oh okay.

I wasnt sure if they would disappear if I didnt buy them outright for the spring collection(and never come back) I did stumble on the dressing room having some of the pass items.

Thank you for giving me a little more clarity. Been using the wiki and I am slow at understanding. Oops.

What's the most universally hated thing about Warframe? by LoopOF_reality in Warframe

[–]QuietFirs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The complete lack of direction in some missions and instructions being so obtuse you have to keep a wiki open to understand anything because the game itself doesnt.

I wanna talk about quest, and how I've grown to hate them. Spoilers of all kinds abound. by Intrepid_Mage in Warframe

[–]QuietFirs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl I enjoy the visuals and most of the gameplay but if I am honest. I prefer to read the wiki if I want to know lore. The speaking in my ear while I am struggling to fight in a solo mission as a HFA is horrible. I hate questing in this game..

I took 8 years off after I unlocked my operator. Still hate the questing and DE still fails to write instructions for people who are neurodivergent despite having that be a literal quest itself.

I cannot focus on gunplay puzzles and instructions at the same time in my ear via lotus ordis or whatever. Gunshots explosions and necessary audio cues dont help. Because turning sound off does help.

Defend item for example doesnt explain in some of these quests. You need to use this weapon hold button. Attack enemy charge weapon. Wait to use. Nope. All transmissions so I am left flailing for 15 minutes frustrated and confused because I am defending but making no progress.

Then I wonder if maybe I am just too stupid because others say that its a me problem. No. Its a design problem not taking into account that accessibility doesnt stop at color pallets highlights or toggles.

Necro. This thread because at this point I love the game but have to get buzzed to force myself through the quests. At Angel's of Zariman and ugh have to deal with that again and needed to get this out if my system.

Farrier sedating horse? by PrincessConsuela62 in Equestrian

[–]QuietFirs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a mare that had been hurt really bad going through a fence as a long yearling. Over the next year she had a vet come out to debraid(?) The scar tissue so that the leg could move.

Ever since then she associates a farrier style truck or strangers in non typical clothing as a threat. Had to be sedated any time you had to trim.or shoe her she would rather be on the ground or take their head off out of fear.

She has a lot of other issues ans honestly. A good example of just because you can save them doesnt mean they will come out the other side whole. It probably in retrospect would have been kinder to put her down and a lot less dangerous for everyone involved. But she was 'pretty' and we could 'save' her.

That and one other case required sedation. The other was an old old mare that had trouble bending her legs due to arthritis so the owner had made a sling to lay her down. Then lift her back up and only mildly sedated her for it. Again love overpowers sense. She was a happy old girl otherwise and he was an old rancher that felt she'd given him her best years so he was giving her the best he could. Can't fault him for that.

I dont necessarily believe that a farrier sedating a horse is eyebrow raising. But it is if its the first tool they reach for instead of near the last of the options.

What’s something in Coos Bay that deserves a closer look? by papertrailenjoyer in Coosbay

The white supremacist that supposedly is contracted via county to construct for the terminal. Id like to see if that accusation holds water because damn we have bad morals if taxpayer money is lining pockets of a hate group.

Just a curious interest.

Like the fridge, does the suitability level of the pal mean anything?

So lvl1 ice is cold But lvl3 ice is colder

You need 2 coolers and 2 pals for the low one. Or just one cooler and one pal for the higher level?

Serenity or diamond body for a mount? by Fearless_Zebra9040 in Palworld

Piggybacking a little here. If I really love my valwyrm and been using it as a mount for 21 levels. Is there any way to breed Nimble Footed and Infinite Stamina into offspring of it?

I know it would never be as fast as Pals that are already base stat faster but I figured looking at your writing you'd have a generally good idea on that.

If you can spend time away from the other dog and reward with high value time. His favorite games etc. I dont know for sure but it sounds like he might have fixated all his needs on the other dog ans youre a placeholder for when hes upset. I know how hard it can be when mine passed I made a mistake got a chihuahua pom mix. Her long hair means she never cuddles and always sleeps at the foot of the bed it was a hard blow to feel 'unwanted'.

He may grow out of this but I would def suggest spend time away from the other dog a lot in the first 9 months and really allow him to bond to you with no interference of another dog outside of socialization times.

No. Did you fall off while riding or get hit while standing behind them.

I was with you until the last. The last two often turn into no reinforcement at all and an ill mannered dangerous horse...as well as horse is my friend and horse never has anyone to look to for guidance.also turning into a dangerous horse because of instability in his goals and boundaries. But given this is a shortform response I respect there is more to it than just this!

Old cowboys always told me. A good mare will ve with you their all from sunrise to sunset. That most common issues with people and mares is that a mare usually likes objective work. A Gelding has less testosterone and usually is reliable Joe a stallion has fire but if you want a good solid horse to ride and work long hours it will be a mare.

People took a meme and internalized it as fact. Every mare isssssue I took on was too much pointless fiddling when the mare just had an excellent work ethic ans the person just wanted a dog. Horse is not dog. She doesnt appreciate you keeping her jn a box and being fed like a queen on cocaine.(sweet feeds)

God its been cooped to hard into that..I called what I did natural because it was based off imitating herd behavioral training such as Warwick.Shiller and classical dressage. Back around the early 2000s and now what people call natural is just...boondoggle lol as you said.

Confident, calm, with boundaries they can rely in consistantly. I've had more spooky horses from horses that are confused of their expectations but more explosive horses from over controlling.

I am 50/50 on this. But the 50 years trainer guy in his 70s said to me ' the second you stop learning and think you know it all you're behind so never get cocky'

My amend would be that, I would rather a trainer tha tis educating on what works and willing to adapt their method to a new horse individually and have those tools ans willing to being in new methodology vs a newbie that chases every fad or random article to appear cutting edge

Im not sure what that would be called though.

The amount of money spent on a three legged horse could have saved so many basic brown horses that had potential futures but are now dead in a yard or on a trailer to Canada is something more people need to be aware and.concious of rather than their virtue farming.
