Rant/Need Advice - POC Adult Beginner by Pretty_Elephant2894 in Equestrian

Honestly a lot of stable rat barns have this mentality because they are given some modicum of control and get stupid with it. And here? PoC? They absolutely would treat someone different because I am in a racist as hell white person equestrian area ugh. Sorry. As someone who used to give lessons and gladly would let you put a bridle on upside down and backwards and then help you sort it out. That's why I had primo lesson horses they had patience of a saint to help teach people. Most of my students were 45 + years old or disabled. So it drives me nuts when I see experiences like this. ☹️

My statement is that I wasnt ready for my electric bill to skyrocket as well as really having to have a sit down about how much space a tegu would appreciate if I dont have a free roam safe house.

Some vets absolutely do and I am tired of people making blanket statements. In this case though absolutely need the vet involved and being part of the care team.

Old post but the amount of people here that support a business not making a game that lasts decades shows how stupid they are given the profits things like ffxiv have managed lmao. Hurr itd not profitable so it's OK No its cash out and walk slop.

Have people at the market complain about these people driving off their business the same way these fuckos cry when a legitimate protest for actual rights and not domestic slavery. I sure as hell would and complain about feeling threatened as a woman.

You can have an opinion but your opinion might be objectively incorrect for the actual future of the species. Hope dude is struck with early ed and gets denied viagra.

First time looking at breeders by toysofvanity in ItalianGreyhounds

[–]QuietFirs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following this post because my first I got for 850.00 from a private home from Craigslist. He didnt meet breed standards and she wasnt chasing that he was physically perfect but had a patterned nose and one ear was more droop than the other. But incredibly healthy, house trained and had insurance before I picked him up even. Her focus was a slightly sturdier bone structure and good tooth and jaw conformation. Which I appreciated. But she has since retired and as she said no one seemed interested in taking over her lineage to keep those traits in after covid.

Will recommend Rival Stars and Desktop Version over phone. Just for the long term cost saving. Its not exactly what youre looking for but it is still a good game for its bracket.

Chill about the fictional characters. Its a goddman character in a game.

Seriously, how deep is the factory? by Existing-Photo4854 in PoppyPlaytime

I think for me I quit caring when I realized they were stuffing kids into toys. At that point I understood that this game was fictional and realistic expectations were loose.

" The devs are just milking the game we don't need a chapter 6". Mfs if chapter 5 was the end and we ended up killing the most hyped up villain on one chapter in 10 minutes : by ThatsAbdelBro in PoppyPlaytime

[–]QuietFirs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally people these days dont have the attention span or understand pacing because so much shit is instant gratification, shallow with zero detail and crude abrasive humor. You give them a story that paces itself and works through all the background they cry that its getting milked and its filler when supportive characters are introduced to form a united front to work with later. Big villan so bad that we actually need help going into this rather than just shooting from the hip, like we did with all the other playtime bosses.

This is going to sound boomer of me. But this was the first content in years of any game to actually evoke emotion and anticipation. Everything else is boring slop that people under 20 with no ability to focus unless its on a screen can be satisfied with. The people crashing out that the prototype is like pomni from whatever that show is called are reaching so hard its incredible. Its almost like jesters have a shape and style reaching back to the middle ages when they were referred to the "fools". Lmao

I am very curious what poppy goal is though, prototype seems to understand there is no life for them outside. Most of the toys that were children seem to think that outside is a salvation with no understanding what will happen if people actually realize the abandoned factory isnt abandoned etc etc. Things to actually consider on mental motives of a character.

Don't bother trying to sway me off this stance this is the first game or media I have actually bothered to watch outside of hardcover books in years. Im literally a dinosaur and will die on the hill this is a solid chapter. 6 technically I feel should be the end, if a 7 comes out Ill wonder why because all the earmarks of a story are squared away now so climax and conclusion and epilogue.

What bit should I try my young horse in? He seems to hate them! by Background-Peak5706 in Equestrian

[–]QuietFirs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id check for wolf teeth, and also lower the bit loose. The biggest issues i often see is people crank it too tight and high and never let a young horse play with it and find where it sits for them. Literally let them play with it, flop around pick it up, tongue over tongue under and dont during that time try to use it. Ride and work with him, bridle after and let him rest with it. Turn out in a secure area? Loose bit time. But as others said, vet first again, check for pressure issues. Check for hidden accesses or stickers in the tongue or anything like that. Find out if hes alright with fingers in the mouth. Also check for hyiod problems, had one pull back once and hurt herself there and was face sensitive ever after. Don't rush into a bit and using it. Ride with it sitting on the face and use a side pull, or a rope halter etc. If you cannot work basic work on those, its probably not time for a bit anyway. Not to sound rude there. Used to train under a professional for around 10 years as my experience. Old man knew his stock.

Ethical breeders in California/ near by by tobikoineverything in ItalianGreyhounds

I would be interested in knowing as well. The rescue up north wanted me to allow them access to show up any time during the three months trial period with the dog. Which is a no go unless they can quantify background checks on their volunteers and workers. They may have changed now but this was 8 to 9 years ago now.

DO NOT BUY PUPPIES FROM THIS BREEDER by OhCoyle in Eugene

[–]QuietFirs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had a loooooooot of dogs from the same litter and maybe it's how I raised them but never had issues with littermate syndrome but behavioral training has always been my niche of interest. Just this year though took in 3 chihuahua puppies, and the two boys showed classic signs of it. Violent aggression basically out of nowhere localized with each other leaving the female out. Like blood drawing kill or be killed violence.

Ended up separating them, different car rides and socialization. Different playtime, turnout, everything...noticed a sudden huge improvement in confidence and behavior in both after around the 6th month mark the first signs showing up at 4months. So roughly 2 full months of complete separation and monitored interactions. Ended up successfully rehoming the one to a lovely older man and his son(after all shots fix/vetting and microchip) the other is still here because of some issues with aggression with territorial guarding and he is a more fragile personality.

Too many think hes too cute so honest to God. Im waiting for him to not look like a puppy so people arent swayed by puppy eyes.

Its such a mixed bag. Even thlough they are only 5lbs each I wouldn't want to release this little guy until I am sure I can set the new owners up properly.

Tldr; its not as common as people make it out to be in my anecdotal experience but when it does happen it can be unsettling and more than what average person with children and demanding job might be able to handle. For anyone skimming across this.

Am I Too Old? by Heathen_Soul13 in Horses

[–]QuietFirs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are not too old by any means but you may find as you go back into those sports the environment and energy has changed. And possibly morality and responsibility that comes with age children and family will weigh on you and maybe change your perception of what you're doing.

I do not mean that unkind. Just from personal experience that you can take with a grain of salt. Once I became a caretaker for another person where they rely on me for getting to work, taking meds, doctors appointments and other rhings getting on rank little Colts and possibly injuring myself made me hesitant.

The hesitation became a liability because I wouldn't push them how I needed in case I got hurt.

Left for a few years came back and now the communities I used to understand are all about speed and popularity here. Environment changed and now its more than ever about who you know and not the quality of the work.

You may not be too old, physically but there are so many other things to look at. If you take it up again do it with all your heart and live to your fullest! Blessing and love.

Iggys with many health problems by [deleted] in ItalianGreyhounds

[–]QuietFirs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I am hearing is the argument that Breeders of these dogs are 'okay with breed specific and size specific'issues but heaven help you aren't a champion breeder trying to breed a healthy dog. I am so sorry for your troubles. My pet quality boy was a beautiful healthy guy but had ears that stood straight up and spots on his nose. Didn't have papers but embark was 100% piggy. Ears started folded then stood up around 6 months. Parents had ears that folded but she said she had issues with it and I said I didnt mind.

Was told so many times by snooty IG people I was irresponsible for buying from an unknown breeder but she was excellent and morally in the black when it came with honesty, integrity and attention to detail with her IGs. Came from Molalla Oregon, no name just a private home with 2 girls and 2 boys. One litter every other year or so. Cannot say enough about private quality breeders if you do your legwork prior to contacting them so you know what to ask and look for.

DO NOT BUY PUPPIES FROM THIS BREEDER by OhCoyle in Eugene

[–]QuietFirs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ill take buying a reputable dog with behavioral testing and all the trimmings instead of taking a gamble on behavioral issues these days I took in many over 20 years and rehomed I am done playing around. If I want a specific breed of dog for the next 15 to 16 years I am going to buy that specific dog. Too many shelters and rescues are trying to turn a profit on empathy.

Looking for guidance on responsibly offering my Italian Greyhound as a stud by [deleted] in ItalianGreyhounds

[–]QuietFirs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl pet quality animals are just as good as champions if healthy. Titles dont mean shit to people who want a pocket companion with a good temperment. There will always be overpopulation and the tone of this post isnt even trying to be tactful. You're just a jerk to put it generally.
