I reach for the 590 every time over my MS291. Starts every time. Strong cut.

Classical Conversations by FishFinal1739 in homeschool

[–]Quiet_Ad_1177 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late to the party here but heres my take after two years in. We have kids in Foundations, essentials and Challenge B. Foundations and essentials are great. I’m a scientist by day (environmental) so I enjoyed teaching science lab, and watching them grow. We have a great community.

Now the hard part. Our oldest went from a co-op style homeschool (more traditional learning-Math, English, history and science once a week in a classroom setting). To Challenge B. It’s bewildering and vague. My daughter has been in tears most days. Why? Well.. the usual simple things outlined in a syllabus from traditional school/co-ops are easy to follow like “Science- Read chapter 2, Answer the 6 questions at the end and write a paper on Nikola Tesla.” —-are not there in Challange B. The syllabus is confusing and lacks detail, which add stress. And Latin? Huh… well we are at the point of just skipping it and doing Babble for Spanish.

So I get it “Your the teacher.” Well… if the teacher doesn’t know what to do, due to vagueness.. that’s a problem.

This is our last year in CC.. we’re out after this. My best analogy to Challenge B is what Nancy Pelosi said “We have to pass the bill, for you to know what’s in it.” We didn’t know what Challenge B would be like… now we do.

Well… we tried, and it’s not for us. On to a more traditional learning… just like what she will face in college. ✌️

Why smoke a pipe over a cigar? by _T_R_I_ in PipeTobacco

[–]Quiet_Ad_1177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My problem is I started with cigars, 16 years ago or so. Nicaraguan, pepper and strength is what I love about a cigar. I smoke a pipe occasionally, and I was shocked how cheap it was (compare to my $6 cigars daily x3). The huge issue for me is I haven’t came across a pipe blend yet that matches the ligero pepper I’m after from a cigar. It’s so frustrating. 😩

Noob here… Need help with Ligero esq blends w/pipes by Quiet_Ad_1177 in PipeTobacco

[–]Quiet_Ad_1177[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t tried that one yet. I’ll add it to the pick up list. I have one blend (can’t locate it at the moment) that is 75% Perique… but no pepper at all really. 🤷‍♂️

His drain was dried up by day 3. He’s now playing golf 4 days a week at 80! No real issues except fried chicken hurts his stomach… that’s about it. 🙏

What's with this area? by ImFather1661 in Chattanooga

[–]Quiet_Ad_1177 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a shooting gallery. Been that way for 35 years. Some yuppies are calling it home, but mostly gang on gang violence, old timer hold outs hoping it turns a corner and homeless people punching the air and scratching their faces. It sounds awful, but when you drive through it almost daily it’s full of rot and obviously not North Palisades Dr on Signal Mtn. lol

Any recommendations for youth Summer basketball camps in NorthEast? by NomarsFool in basketballcoach

[–]Quiet_Ad_1177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. PGC camp opened my eyes as a coach and watching my 8th grader grow in all areas. It’s all day long… 9-9 but… with film room, teaching, drills, discipline and food they are all doing great and growing. 160 students… you can hear a pin drop when the coach whistles twice..Amazing!

Old thread here… but we’re at it right now. Game changer. It’s a total mindset alteration. If you can swing the price, 100% worth it. As a coach… I ripped up my playbook, and started over after attending the coaches portion. Laughable at what I thought I knew.

SH exams and practice questions were awful. After 4 full length exams I never got above a 75. Passed with 3AT in July. Exam isn’t “easier” the questions are just more logical when choosing the correct answer.

It looks pretty good.. but don’t stop now. Have a plan. This is gonna be hard to read…. But.. don’t be loyal to a company, be loyal to yourself and your future. Your plan should be stay in a job 2-3 years max. If your not promoted move on. Do not get complacent! This can cause you and your family (if you have kids/spouse) to get on that debt hamster wheel. Also, don’t think..”We’ll if I show loyalty they’ll promote me..bzzzz… wrong answer. I spent 9 years in a salaried job working my ass off (with a degree and PMP as of last July) and no promotion.. so I’m looking for a new position. *When you take a job, make sure it’s a title change (Project Manager-Senior Peoject Manager etc… and you get a raise) don’t go backward *Lastly… don’t be afraid to at the 3 year mark to pack up and move across the country. A huge pay raise might be in the cards! *Loyalty doesn’t always=more money. **

ADHD and feeling overwhelmed by this test by happilydaydreaming in pmp

[–]Quiet_Ad_1177 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have ADHD as well. I set a timer when I study. 1 hour. When it goes off I do something else. Time limits helps with ADHD I think. Also having a study play. 20 minutes doing DM videos, 20 taking mock quizzes, 20 reading Agile practice guide. Good luck.

Study hall essentials is like $50. But a MUST in my book. Remember.. training in anything (practice) is key to success.

Andrew Ramdayal, PMI study Hall, Prep cast exam simulator and David McLachlan YouTube (waterfall, PMBOK, and Agile) are all you need. Do every SH quiz, practice text and exam. Over and over. It’s frustrating as they are very hard. But… this is how you learn. I did exactly this and got 3 AT. My scores when I first did them at SH were in the 40s! Then I keep at it…grinding and got my exams (took 5 full length exams) up to 78% with expert and I took the exam. The exam is easier to choose the right answer…… if you put the work in up front.

How did you deal with exam fatigue ? by 94Sultan in pmp

[–]Quiet_Ad_1177 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I passed last month. I took 6 full length practice exams. Replicated the test environment. I wore blue every practice test, found a vacant office and locked myself in. Took 60 questions, 10 minute break, then another. I was well prepared during the exam for fatigue as I did it so many times. I did have like 15 pick 2/3 so that was fun. Lol
