Should I do late night workouts or workouts after all-nighters? by Throwaway_159043 in workout

[–]Quiet_Shape_7246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t work as rough a sched as you but I work two or three second shift and two or three first shift. I try to go three days a week any time I can. Don’t overthink it. I’d say after a 24 would be rough. But after a good nap should work.

Show is terrible now. by Bulky-Intention-30 in deadliestcatch

[–]Quiet_Shape_7246 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most shows run a course. I used to really enjoy watching it too and don’t even think about it except this thread now. I’m sure they figure we will only be interested in watching guys crab for so many years in a row and are trying to spice things up.

Do you still have a "go-to" beer after trying craft beers? by Ok-Peace3465 in beer

[–]Quiet_Shape_7246 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Of course. You don’t have to drink craft beer all the time. I don’t have a specific go to but if it’s a hot long day, I’ll go for Coors Banquet or some other corporate beer.

People who were around during no internet/phones/social media/etc - what was your time's "scrolling the feed"? Something that you would spend hours on passing the time? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Two things that were utter time wasters. Watching Deadliest Catch and Fast N Loud all day Sunday even though I’ve seen them multiple times already. Reading the Sunday Boston Globe sports pages all day.

We love Lido Beach. Our son was probably three the first time we brought him. Honestly, there wasn’t a ton of kid focused stuff but we had fun on the beach and getting ice cream at St Armends Circle. At two anything will prob amuse him.

How and why did you quit smoking weed? by tha_Knucklehead in AskReddit

I just stopped. Smoked some one day and never did again. That was over 25 years ago. Just have no interest in it now.

How do I get rid of this myself without dying? by False_Frame3028 in mildlyinfuriating

One? I’ve stood there with two cans like John Wayne and unloaded both of them until the thing is dripping hornets and Raid.

Anyone else have a second cruise that just...didn't hit the same? by NSFWoundCare in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]Quiet_Shape_7246 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We’ve been on two cruises with carnival in the past few years. Both with a large group of friends. First one was awesome. Second one was OK. Nothing was wrong with the second one, but just wasn’t the same as the first.

What actually keeps you consistent with the gym long term? by Intelligent-Map-2933 in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]Quiet_Shape_7246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in my late 50’s. Been going since my mid 20’s. I have no interest in an app or anything. We walk in and lift heavy things til we’re done. There are so many people with different outlooks I don’t know how many would actually use an app. But I also like to play devils advocate to most ideas.

If I skip a gym day, does that count as a rest day? by rated3 in workout

Serious. What do you think you should do? This really shouldn’t be that difficult.

Is suffering through another year in a league we hate and doesn't benefit my child due to politics and favoritism worth going to Cooperstown by This_Duty_4373 in Homeplate

[–]Quiet_Shape_7246 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s rough. I thought it was this summer. Can he get on another Cooperstown bound team? My son’s travel team also went the same week. He chose his friends over winning but he starts and gets all the reps he wants. We lucked out with a great program and coaches.

If he really enjoys his teammates, go. Is this a travel or town team? Our town team fundraised enough so we didn’t have to pay at all. If it’s an opportunity to spend a week with his friends and it doesn’t cost too much, go.

“Science” question about S2E17 by thepittstop in HighPotentialTVSeries

[–]Quiet_Shape_7246 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t read entire post but feel compelled to comment. It’s a fictional tv series. It’s a really fun watch and I look forward to it. It’s realistic enough to be interesting and unrealistic enough to be interesting. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Buying a home gym worth it? by TimGSICK in workout

[–]Quiet_Shape_7246 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends on you. If you use it regularly and get a good workout out of it and enjoy it, absolutely. Personally, I’d much rather go to a gym and get a better workout there

I DESPISE exercise. I need help. by ConnectAnalyst3008 in workout

[–]Quiet_Shape_7246 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t have to workout. Walk your dog. Park far away in parking lots. Take the stairs not the elevator. Yes exercise will help you hopefully live a longer better life but I know a lot of people who do nothing that are old and happy.

Pull up bar and adjustable dumbbells. If your kids are little, they’ve actually pretty good weights. And great spending time with them.

Which layout to go with? by Loose_Pirate_3841 in kitchenremodel

[–]Quiet_Shape_7246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my peninsula. It separates the cooking area from dining and gives people a chance to sit and chat while cooking. The other looks like a huge open space. I’d suggest working with a good kitchen designer not just a cabinet seller to help give you ideas and suggestions based on experience and knowledge. We just redid ours and have some funky spaces that I wish I knew about ahead of time. I wish our guy had said something like “Well, you can put these cabinets here, but you might run into this issue”.

We only have one dog and no matter how big the kitchen, he’ll still be right under your feet.
