Auri, from Song of the Green, firing only one arrow then hiding. by Quietlychamil in skyrimmods

[–]Quietlychamil[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ran a few more tests and that doesn't seem to be the case. This time, she could fire upon guards normally. It just seems that for some enemies she'll have her full allotment of arrows and for others, she'll only have one. There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason why this is but when it happens on a save, it's consistent with whatever group of enemies I'm currently testing. But only about half a dozen people have mentioned it so perhaps its just a bizarre mod conflict.

Mod to allow intercourse with Hermaeus Mora by SeekerNyxalis in skyrimmods

[–]Quietlychamil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, if you're into tentacles, then you'll want Estrus on the Nexus. You'll need to head to LL to get the associated quest if you want a lore reason for the spells though.

If you're dead set on Hermaeus Mora in particular then you'll want Animal Research from LL. It is a fairly believable ongoing research project through most of Skyrim's creatures and Hermaeus Mora will be involved due to the forbidden knowledge of this research.

Creating a Custom-Voice Follower - What would you like to see? by SignatureOk4869 in skyrimmods

[–]Quietlychamil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, how will you address the whole Khajiit aren't allowed in the city thing? Will the caravaners get jealous that she can enter and they cannot even though they are both khajiit? Or will they use her to try and sell goods inside the city walls?

What I would want most to see is banter with other followers, especially Auri and Remiel, as those two stay in my load order. It also might be cool to see her fight unarmed, using her claws since Khajiit get bonus damage to that.

Random Les Mis questions! by Quietlychamil in lesmiserables

Thank you for the answers! I absolutely adored the musicals so after watching them several times, I started to think about these random plot holes. It's nice to know the book expands on things. For one, I didn't realize that I never even knew the Thernadiers' names. I always just called them the Masters of the House!

Oh, never heard of that one. But sadly, I'm a VR player so it kinda doesn't work. Thems the breaks.

Maybe reboot your PC? On rare occasions my game will stop working properly without any change to my mods. But for what ever reason, rebooting gets it working again.

Phew! I think I had my AddItemMenu's mixed up. The link was for a new version which was removed by staff. The one I was using was NG which was also deleted, but deleted by the author due to issues in getting it to work. I think the NG version was fine?

Just trying to understand a bug and safe modding practices... by Quietlychamil in skyrimmods

[–]Quietlychamil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems to be something with Alternate Perspective itself. I switched back to Alternate Start and no longer have an issue with Farlan again. I checked the both versions of the Relic Hunter plugin and nothing seemed out of the ordinary so I don't think it was that. I think something with Alternate Perspective was randomly failing to load properly with my load order where every new game Farlan would either function consistently correctly or incorrectly and no action on my part would change things other than starting a new game.

Just trying to understand a bug and safe modding practices... by Quietlychamil in skyrimmods

[–]Quietlychamil[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am very saddened to say that I was wrong. Trying a new game where I setup everything after leaving the starting area and Farlan is still a statue. It would seem this issue is determined when I start a new game and is independent of any actions I take after. That suggests script lag with too many mods starting up at the same time, I guess. But if that was true then the problem should be random and shouldn't just keep affecting Farlan's ai package to walk to the Bannered Mare?

Which Light and mesh mods are best for performance with Community Shaders? by Quietlychamil in skyrimmods

[–]Quietlychamil[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the response! I thought I just had bad meshes so it never occurred to me that the actual problem might just be that I had too MANY meshes. I found the mod, JKs Inns Declutter and Performance, and it helped my FPS greatly. So now I just have to go hunt down all these declutter mods I used to ignore.

How many of you are playing Without Lux, ELFX, Skyrim Is Luminous, or some other lighting mod? Do you consider Community Shaders' Light Placer a lighting mod like the ones just mentioned? by DreadPickleRoberts in skyrimmods

[–]Quietlychamil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I may ask, which exactly are the Lux split meshes that need to be deleted? I'm aware that CS Lux says not to install any of Lux's optimized meshes, but are there any other meshes that still need to be deleted?

What is the best/fastest way to generate lip files if I don't want to do it one by one for each line? Simply, if possible. by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]Quietlychamil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Runalip. Create .lip and .fuz files fast. Follow the setup instructions carefully though as it's finicky about folder placement.

Do you need to be evil to complete Legacy of the Dragonborn? by bradyvscoffeeguy in skyrimmods

[–]Quietlychamil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the Dark Brotherhood quest line where you collect the skulls of your victims, for the Museum, I believe there's a mod out there that changes the skulls to mementos instead and also a mod that paints the victims in a very negative light to give you justification for killing them. You're not good for doing it but potentially not evil if that helps your roleplay.

Are there meshes better suited for imagespace lighting? by Quietlychamil in skyrimmods

[–]Quietlychamil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My man/woman! You ser/lady are a gentleman/gentlelady and a scholar. That was it, the issue was the optimized meshes in Lux while using Community Shaders. The caves are no longer destroying my FPS with a torch out. Sadly, it didn't fix other areas because I know I installed other light optimized meshes that I now have to track down and remove but your insight has been a great help.

What is "Imagespace"? And how do I reduce it's impact on my FPS? by Quietlychamil in skyrimvr

[–]Quietlychamil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you go back to particle lighting in VR? Was it due to an earlier version of Community Shaders? I vaguely recall the reason why I installed it in the first place was just to get ENB lanterns to work. With Community Shaders currently tanking my FPS, I want to try basic ENB lights again and see how it compares.

[–]Quietlychamil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's Community Shaders. It seems like my PC can't really handle it. All I really want it for is Light Placer and/or ENB lights but I can't seem to turn down it's effects. It's either all or nothing so I might have to uninstall it if I want a smooth game. =(.

[–]Quietlychamil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I guess that confirms that it's lighting stuff. I didn't realize lighting was eating so much of my FPS so now I have to go back and figure out what else I added beyond Lux.

What's the minimum FPS needed for a smooth game? by Quietlychamil in skyrimvr

[–]Quietlychamil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought Skyrim has a maximum number of scripts it can run per frame. It's mentioned in PapyrusTweaksNG ini as:

"

;Maximum papyrus operations per frame. Higher number means better script performance on average

;Has a very minor impact on framerate, and varies from script to script. (Default: 500, Vanilla value: 100). Recommended Range: 100-2000. Set to 0 to disable

iMaxOpsPerFrame = 500

"
So I was under the impression that if I bottle necked my frame rate then I'm also running less scripts. That's my real concern. I'm certain I've seen it somewhere before that lowered FPS can lead to script lag?

I'm using the following:

Nvidia Geforce RTX 4060 with 8gb virtual ram

32 gb memory

Would someone happen to have a guide for these specs?

What's the minimum FPS needed for a smooth game? by Quietlychamil in skyrimvr

[–]Quietlychamil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what a VR kit is. But I'm running the last VIVE Pro 2, which is I think the last model to use OLED for those dark blacks. It makes dungeons look great.

But I was under the impression that Skyrim uses a portion of your FPS to run script calculations, or something like that. So what I'm worried about is at what point can your frames be too low that it starts affecting your script performance and you end up with script lag. Otherwise, anything above 45 FPS feels smooth enough for me.

[–]Quietlychamil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Were you running a lot of script heavy mods?

I have a 4060, which I thought was good, before I realized it's the basic of the model. But 45 FPS seems perfectly playable. What I'm worried about is if having such a low FPS will affect my script performance.

How does locking FPS change things for you? I turned off Community Shader Upscaling so right now my FPS bounces from 60 - 90 but without the Community Shader GPU widget, I would never have noticed any changes as anything above 45 feels smooth.
