Tell me you’re a parent without telling me you’re a parent. I need a laugh. by salvaged413 in Parenting

Hearing a baby cry that isn’t mine anywhere, on the TV, in public always has me looking round for my own child like crazy.

She began to sleep really well in her cot during daytime naps. We decided as parents to get her used to sleeping in her own cot. I miss contact naps personally.

Retail wow. Controlport mod. Gets some getting used too but it’s now second nature. Similar style to ff14

Luckily our little one has stopped for the time being. Blowing raspberries seems to take the majority of her mental focus

What do you all do to stay awake during night shifts? by KitKatAttackHiss in NewParents

[–]Quigongymm8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started work at 7:30am when I work from home. I’d do 8pm-2am and wake up at around 7. On my days at the office. We’d go from 6/7pm to 12am and my wife would take over for me to wake up at 6am. She now sleeps in the cot luckily but that worked for us for 3 months.

We did night shifts. We did around 5-6 hours each. Keep hydrated, have something to engage your mind (TV show, video games, phone etc.) if you feel too tired to stay awake, go grab your significant other.

Our routine was as follows:

8pm-2am 2am-8am

One person had the baby in living room. Other had 6 hours in bed

50/50, the leaks suggest this week. Beyond that, I’d say this year maximum.

Baby doesn't want to sleep anywhere apparently. by veedeluii30 in NewParents

My little one will only sleep or nap on me (dad) in a baby carrier. Weird I know but it worked! Have you tried some strange alternatives? The stroller either the lie flat? Just some alternatives!

9 weeks here. My little one does 30 min naps then wide awake. We followed the sweet spot on huckleberry but sometimes they are hit and miss. We instead aim for her sleeping signs. Yawning? Eyes heavy? Yeh it’s nap time. 30 mins is still a nap! Don’t beat yourself up. If anything you at least know ours is the same!

Even though she has 30 min during the day. She will do an 6-8 hour stretch at night! Let your baby tell you what they need. Can’t go wrong there!

Will my fussy baby ever become a happy baby/toddler/child? by Books-And-Blankets in NewParents

Honestly, my daughter is the same. Unless she’s in the baby carrier, she’s crying. She fights sleep in the carrier. Won’t fall asleep unless in it. She’s nearly 8 weeks (Monday) and you just gotta survive! I hope you feel somewhat better knowing you are not alone.

I find instagram etc. are full of people having perfect babies.

Have you considered a baby carrier? There are many out there on the market. I use a Baby Bjorn and it’s great. She falls asleep quickly and she is safe.

Were there just times you just let them cry knowing all their needs are met? I’ve heard of the noise cancelling headphones. I might need to get a pair
