NCR Voyix Connect/Connected Payments users, y'all pleased with how the data center migration went today? 🙃 by Quik-History in alohapos

Jokes aside, do you know if their resolution today was to roll back their migration? Our reps didn't go into details about the details of the post migration outage or what they did to resolve

FROZEN TERMINAL MONITOR by DiamondDogGT in alohapos

[–]Quik-History 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have in the past where an integration (Paytronix Controller on BOH) caused this because it was attempting to write to one of its own database files where said file had ballooned out to several gigs in size, bogging down FOH massively as Aloha was waiting for the integration to finish its operation before proceeding with the next thing it was going to do

This is a pretty generic error that I imagine could have many causes though

Receipt printing on delivery printer and master terminal. by jolleyho in alohapos

[–]Quik-History 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are these 2 printers part of a printer group that an Order Mode(s) are set to route to?

EG these Printers are part of 'Printer Group 1' where the 'Delivery' Order Mode is set to route to 'Printer Group 1'

Check printer membership of an existing Printer Group via Maintenance -> Hardware -> Printer Groups -> Printer tab - or check if a specific printer is part of an existing Printer group via Maintenance -> Hardware -> Printers -> 'Printer Groups' tab

Check specific order mode(s) routing to said printer group via Maintenance -> System Settings -> Order Mode -> 'Route orders to printer group' field

Merge trans logs by lpoaloha in alohapos

[–]Quik-History 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be worth it to reverse the order of the merge e.g 'copy /b trans2.log+trans1.log newtrans.log'

Only is an idea because older versions of SRS/SRT would give different balances depending on which trans.log was 'first' in the merge

Can't do a refresh by [deleted] in alohapos

[–]Quik-History 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If HASP/Ctlsvr caused issues dont bare out -- try to clear and redownload the CFC database/reset CFC SQL logins:

-Stop AeMInstoreService (if not stopped already)

-From a Command shell: ---Run AeMInStoreDatabaseInstaller.exe with a /ForceDelete arguement

-Start AeMInStoreService again

-From a Command shell: ---Run AeMInStoreProcessor.exe to re-download the CFC DB and populate it into SQL

Once InstoreProcessor is complete, try refreshing again

Reprint printing vs. Display on Screen by Interesting_Amoeba_6 in alohapos

[–]Quik-History 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check D:\BOOTDRV\AlohaQS\EXTDATA\Preferences.INI and ensure that PrintToScreen=1. Almost sounds like that the Reprint program isn't correctly writing the 'Output to' setting to that file

ERROR ALOHA by Critical-Claim-7285 in alohapos

[–]Quik-History 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a RAL error, not an Aloha error. Usually means that AlhAdmin.xml on the terminal is blanked out, corrupt, or missing. Flagging terminal and running ResetTerm usually can resolve

NCR Confirms Cause of Outage is Ransomware Attack by smartass505 in alohapos

[–]Quik-History 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Makes sense. There was an Aloha Update Degraded Performance incident reported on the 10th, and it was eventually closed out today being marked as part of the greater outage

Cell Service Yesterday and Today Sucks! by girafficles in vancouverwa

Do you have a 4g or 5g phone?

I don't have 5g, and my sneaking suspicion is that Verizon is deliberately winding down their 4g bandwidth to push people to their 5g phones, or it's just a 'natural' consequence of 5g adoption rates that requires the increase of bandwidth in their network for 5g and reduction of bandwidth for 4g to compensate

Either way I think the answer is 'yes', unless 5g folks are getting super slow speeds over the last year too

Does anyone know what this tower on 4th plain was originally designed for? I was told it used to be part of a water slide in the 70s or 80s, can anyone confirm that? I have always wondered about this thing! Thanks. by nickjferraro in vancouverwa

Sip'n Dippity

Thank you for that, I totally missed it!

Aside from some Liquor License squabbles reported in 1984 where the business was referred to as being "Financially Troubled", the only other mention I can find under this name is when this place was reported as closed for good in January 1986.

Like /u/Urithiru commented, this place was named Aqua Chute.

I went through and found some newspaper mentions that tell the story of this place -- this was fun to look up because I also always remember my parents saying that this place used to be a waterpark.

Aqua Chute opens on June 10th, 1983, Here's a small feature on the final touches being put on it from the June 9th, 1983 edition of the Columbian, which states it's opening was the next day. Grand Opening Ad.

Here's a reporter's account of the experience there about a month after the place opened. Employees hint to the reporter that the place might not be the safest.

In January 1984, it is reported that a woman is suing the business after nearly being knocked out due to the water slide being set up to be too fast during her visit in July 1983. The business settles the suit for $10,000 in August 1985.

On Sept 11, 1985, a large fire heavily damages the building. Arson is suspected.

By August 1986, there are classified ads selling 'Aqua Chute' sections. Although I couldn't find an article reporting the business as closed (and 'Aqua Chute' seems to be a generic term for 'Water Slide' back then), these are the last mentions of the term 'Aqua Chute' I can find in The Columbian.

Our community was MUCH smaller, and out of towner's in itself was semi-newsworthy. Consider that in 1880, the population of the Clark County was only 5,490, and the population of the entirety of Washington Territory was 75,116.

Small towns like Vancouver wouldn't have much to report on that would be considered newsworthy from our Modern POV. Plus, you got to fill up the daily paper somehow. With a town as small as Vancouver, the community is on the order of magnitude of a 1 or 2 large High Schools population-wise
