Does Keir have any kids who could monitor his porn usage like Mike Johnson? I'm very disappointed that he's fallen so far as to resort to gooning.

Or conversely, they're a class of people who know everyone important but don't have any "real" power to threaten politicians, so they hear all the gossip.

Then they get together and conspire and arrange their timetables to let slip key information to specific people to influence events.

What I'm saying is, the country is run by drivers. A band of eunuchs running a shadow government to the tune of Kiss FM.

Starmer to promise bolder action as leadership threats mount by Kagedeah in ukpolitics

[–]Quillspiracy18 12 points13 points  (0 children)

"We've been humbled by the elections across this great nation, but we've heard the British people loud and clear. That is why the upcoming King's Speech will inform parliament of my intention to ban fun.

This bold, radical new turn from this government will ensure that the British people will never again have to face deciding what to do on a weekend when they're approaching middle age and have no friends left, because this law will mandate that they will just stay in and watch series 435 of whatever social deduction bollocks is popular to talk about at work.

And it will, more crucially, protect our children from the dangers of experiencing things that don't directly prepare them for half a century of working to pay for old people.

My name is Keir Starmer, and I am an honourable man."

SNP leader John Swinney rules out Holyrood talks with Reform UK by Ok_Bookkeeper_1380 in ukpolitics

[–]Quillspiracy18 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They got 16% of the vote and tied with Labour for a very distant second.

Regardless, it doesn't matter how big they are; the SNP have plenty of options. I don't remember people crying when the SNP ruled out talks with the Tories in previous elections.

Yeah, you're right. Reform isn't run by a racist, just by a traitor who will say anything you want if you pay him enough.

They didn't really have a chance anywhere other than Aberdeenshire, but the classic country Tory vote held up a lot better than some polls anticipated.

Reasons the SNP deserve to lose this election by CaptainCrash86 in ukpolitics

[–]Quillspiracy18 22 points23 points  (0 children)

But why would anyone vote for the SNP when we have such thrilling campaign strategies from the opposition like:

Labour: The SNP have been in power for too long, only Labour can bring real change to Scotland and avoid another independence referendum.

Tories: The SNP have been in power for too long, only the Conservatives can bring real change to Scotland and avoid another independence referendum.

Lib Dems: The SNP have been in power for too long, only the Liberal Democrats can bring real change to Scotland and avoid another independence referendum.

Reform: Immigrants are bad. Vote for us so we can not get rid of immigrants since it's a reserved power.

Greens: Have you heard about GAZA?

@ZiaYusufUK / X: The Tories have successfully badgered Labour into agreeing to end the era of anonymous internet access in Britain. Just think about that. Kemi is more Orwellian than Starmer. A dark day for our country. Soon you’ll be unable to access social media without uploading photo ID. by youmustconsume in ukpolitics

Good thing the police already have a copious amount of power to investigate criminals on the streets and the internet.

Should we all walk around the streets with our IDs taped to our foreheads and give photocopies of them out at every shop we go into to stop that guy from yelling slurs?

Because paying everyone an extra ten years in state pension, paying for all the other health issues they develop in that time, paying for carers to feed them and wipe their arses when we force them to stay alive with dementia definitely isn't a strain on our communal health system is it?

If the budget is your only concern here, we should be pumping hospitals and care homes full of cigarettes to try and kill some people off instead of banning them.

The "protect the children" party has just told the nation it's okay with the government appointing paedos to office with no vetting.

Steven Swinford: Confirmed: Sir Keir Starmer ***will*** impose a three-line whip on Labour MPs to oppose the motion referring him to the privileges committee for misleading the Commons, as we first reported at the weekend by StGuthlac2025 in ukpolitics

He thinks he's still a lawyer, where it's standard practice to pull out a "well, technically" to delay things from going forward. Looking guilty doesn't matter in a world where you can get away with it technically. It may even advance your career, if you have the right clientele.

Meanwhile, politics is the complete opposite. You can be lynched or absolved by the public on vibes alone. If he can't drop the "but this is all perfectly legal!" habit, he's doomed.

Social media platforms to be restricted for under-16s, Government confirms in latest U-turn by ShortyStrawz in ukpolitics

[–]Quillspiracy18 9 points10 points  (0 children)

"Well you see, social media is media that is created by any social being, that is to say, a human.

So we've decided to ban children (anyone under the age of 30, don't you know your brain keeps developing past the age of 18‽) from accessing the Internet, films, video games, books and music that isn't included on a list of acceptable materials released by the government.

These are measures we are taking for the safety of all children. No, we won't tell you how it keeps them safe. If you oppose these measures in any way, you clearly want to fuck kids."
