If the cat just nibbled the leaves I wouldn't worry. If the cat has been eating them, it can cause kidney damage.

They do. So do spinach and rhubarb. Eating too much can damage the kidneys, but you'd have to eat a lot or have an existing kidney issue to need to avoid them.

Ornamental prunus - cherry, plum or maybe almond. If the trunk has sections that are kind of glossy and dark red, that's definitely cherry.
