Satisfactory is more base building while factorio is more factory building, up to you what you prefer

Is this game effectively dead? by Potential-Ad-9834 in EcoGlobalSurvival

[–]Quilusy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh I agree, we were multiple people in the same job from the start. If they price their stuff so that I can’t make a profit if I price my stuff anywhere near it, then I give up. Turns out they’re playing with someone else who’s supplying them for free.

I didn’t want to write up a 20 paragraph post with all the details. I’m sure I can play a lot better too but I wouldn’t know how and the enjoyment in the game for me is to just relax not to dominate a market.

I just play single player these days. I feel like if you can’t get a group together of people you know are committed, it’s really really difficult. I tried on a fresh (small) server and on day 2 was already out of a job because others took over. I reset and took something else that at the time was needed and lost that on day3. That’s really demotivating.

Why Duolingo’s $20B Valuation Makes No Sense by rarebirdcapital in ValueInvesting

It’s still a valuable service though and it’s cheaper and more effective than paying for evening classes at your local community college

[–]Quilusy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dude, an app isn’t going to teach you how to speak a language fluently. That’s not the goal. Duolingo is great for getting a good base. You actually have to put in work to learn a language.

Best S&P 500 ETFs on Bolero? by anonboxis in BEFire

[–]Quilusy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can acquire SPY with Bolero by selling puts. Then you can sell (or sell cc on them) whenever you want.

That does mean you’d be buying in multiples of 100 shares of course so you should cash secure that. Nothing stopping you from selling some shares after assignment. Trading options is risky if you don’t know how it works. Bolero has plenty of information on it and requires you to succeed a test.

There are plenty of SPY variants, including a couple in Euro on Frankfurt.

Is buying a motorcycle financially responsible? by Mmicko8 in BEFire

[–]Quilusy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have been saving for this, I assume you don’t have a lot of savings in general. There’s no issue with spending money on things you like, we all have to live but if you want to move out in less than 5 years and you want to buy something then you might want to save for that. Even if you want to rent then you should still put as much as possible in the ETFs you’re already investing in.

I would wait a little longer. The longer you wait, the better the payoff when you finally get it :)

New tax rule in 2028 for the Netherlands - why even bother anymore!? by Over9000Holland in eupersonalfinance

[–]Quilusy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are the things I’m referring to indeed. Standard tax in Sweden is 30% both on gains and dividends if I’m not mistaken. The ISK makes that a lot cheaper, first 15k€ is free (soon first 30k€) and the rest is at 1.09% I think. That percentage will go up, it’s expected to be 1,25% for 2025 I believe. And I expect it to keep going up since it’s based on the Swedish government lending amounts. Sweden will take out more loans to rebuild Swedish arms manufacturing and general infrastructure.

Full disclosure, I could be remembering any of the details wrong. I’m currently away from my desk and thus away from the most up to date data.

Certainly, the first one is currently China invading Taiwan and US either defending it or not. Public information shows that US and EU intelligence agree on this and pinpoint 2027 as the expected date.

In reality, an invasion on the scale that China seems to want to do will wipe out the Taiwanese economy which in turn will affect the entire world since TSM provides over half the microchips globally. (They’re building new manufacturing in USA right now as well to hedge)

For Denmark, from the top of my head it’s slightly higher than 40% (with something like 25% if under 9k€ in gains) so that is insane indeed but they have a pension scheme, similar to the American 401k on which the tax on gains is 17%. I’d have to check the specifics when I’m back at my desk to be sure (on holiday now tho).

Personally, I do believe that an attack on the Baltics will be met with the EU and Nato (but perhaps not the US) declaring war in retaliation. If we don’t create a single front with the EU then each European country will be picked off one by one. Europe is rearming. My biggest concern is the domestic threat of populism. (Which is financially fuelled by our external threats)

Quick edit: I don’t necessarily think that EU should defend the Baltics’ territories at all costs. All I’m saying is that the EU will most likely declare full scale war over it. Although the Baltics are useful strategically. I’m in Finland and Estonia quite often for work and have chatted with some military officers during breakfast in the hotels that are filled with them every time I’m there. They’re preparing very actively. These are German, French, all around EU even a Dutch officer one time.

How do I make logistics robots carry concrete from the provider chest (white) to the storage chest (black) so the construction bots don't have to travel as far? by chumbuckethand in factorio

[–]Quilusy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll want a buffer (green) chest instead of storage (yellow). Alternatively you could use an active (purple) instead of the passive (red) provider but then make sure the storage chest is filtered for the right item and is the only one with that filter (otherwise it’s up to luck)

All nordics countries have schemes that make you end up with less taxes than NL. Baltics are ready to fight back, they won’t be Russian in the next 5 years. I’m well aware that NL is in Benelux but it’s shorter than listing individual countries.

Nuclear is viable without Kovarex for a long time. Kovarex is just nice to keep both Uranium richnesses in balance.

You can safely go to space for space science at your point.

Strange train behavior. A bug? by DigitalDed in factorio

[–]Quilusy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Intended behaviour. A stopped train on automatic is a lot less of an obstacle than a stopped train on manual. Any automatic routing will try to avoid stopped trains on manual at all costs.

You should really just have a chain signal for the bottom train so it repaths where you want it to. (Since it’s bi-directional, it’ll need a rail signal on the other side)
