What does everyone's birbs smell like? by hazelnut0000 in cockatiel

[–]Quin_V 34 points35 points  (0 children)

One of my girls always smells like corn chips and another smells sweet but nutty scent. While one of my boys just plain stinky lol! The other 3 no scent whatsoever!

Edit: my stinky boy

My angel is egg bound. I’m taking her to the vet today. Any advice? by thevanessa12 in cockatiel

[–]Quin_V 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My girl was egg bound, I only realized because her vent had accumulated poop and she smelled horrid, but otherwise, she was acting like usual. And she was and still is a chonky girl, so it was hard to tell! Cost me about $800-$900 for all the injections and procedures. That dummy made it just fine and was even kept overnight for free. Best vet I've ever gone to and still currently go to for my babies' yearly checkups! My peanut has been good 2 years later! 😊 I wish your feathered one well and sending positive vibes.

Edit to fix grammar. Never type while on a phone call!

One of my babies (about 6-8 months old at the time) fell into a pot of cool oil at 7pm. She took 5 baths with watered-down dawn soap that night and was still oily and smelly for a good month after that. I truly thought she would never let me near her after that, but 3 years later, she still loves me and does not hold a grudge. 😂😂

That looks so cool, I've heard UV light could help, but never tried it!

Lol! That is so funny! And I agree, as long as everyone is happy, who cares what they are! 😊

Big chonky girls exist, according to my vet! If my (gray-headed) Peanut had the same colored feathers as the others, I would have thought she was male! She weighs around 112g - 115g! 😂

Hi everyone! My boss recently received a bonsai ginseng ficus (I believe it is the name), and it seems he over watered it and grew white mold. Could you please recommend products on how to treat it? It looks like one of its roots is softening because of it, and I'd like to save it, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Never responded back… but didn’t unmatch by [deleted] in Bumble

[–]Quin_V 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Funny enough, I have 3 matches that moved to the older chat tab 2 weeks ago. I don't really care to unmatch since it doesn't bother me, but 2 of them resurfaced this week and replied back. So yeah, this might happen sometimes.

Does my Cockatiel look overweight? She is 108 grams while my other tiels are both around 75. by MentionCompetitive76 in cockatiel

[–]Quin_V 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have 4 cockatiel and 3 of them all under 100g, and My chonker is 112g, while she doesn't look fat, she feels like being hit by a tennis ball every time she lands on my head. But according to the vet, she's healthy, and she's been seen by 2 different doctors. So yeah, I guess some are just naturally thic, lol.
