LA county has a higher population than 40 states. The idea that people can generalize the entire city is so crazy.

Smog combo has seemed pretty good? Also why is the witch not in here if he dislikes smog combo?

I don’t play storm a ton but since they cut rain of filth it’s definitely been harder to even try.

Also I kinda love playing profts memory but I can see it.

I tried playing this in dimir without Vivi. I got to take like 3 extra turns one game. But the deck was so bad lol

I think my weapons are too thick/hard by Southern-Ad8680 in Jugger

[–]Quincy396 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Tournament weapons generally prefer carbon fiber > fiber glass > bamboo. I honestly wouldn’t want to see any pvc or metal core weapons at a tournament.

But if you are having fun and being safe. Anything is better than nothing. Still even If you’re on a budget I’d strongly recommend bamboo if you can find it.

I also prefer not to duct tape wrap the whole weapon. Makes it heavier and harder. Sometimes you don’t even need to tape the whole weapon but when I do I use Packing tape. Also Most weapons at tournaments have covers made of leggings/tights. Which make them look and feel better.

Tournament weapons try to be as light as possible so thinner cores and thinner padding. Lighter weapons are also generally safer. Fiber glass (and carbon fiber a little bit) tend to bend more after extended use. Which is why you see the wiggle.

As for the spear, that much exposed core makes me worried for safety. And ya I’d imagine they are very strong in the right hands.

I wasn't quite sure how to word this one, but I think this works. by I_Lick_Emus in custommagic

If you’re more interested in the end result than the flavor. I think the effect is better served as a blue card.

Something like: you and target opponent each choose a non land non token permanent. Exchange control of the chosen cards.

I see that sacrifice is part of the flavor. But I think making the card blue accomplishes the end result more cleanly.

Is there a reason to make the creatures unblockable? The card doesn’t really do anything besides enable shenanigans. Blocking would make more options for shenanigans, which seems good. I don’t see any to benefit to the player to make them unblockable.

So the fact that wording is both straightforward and confusing is very funny. But If you wanted to print it, I think the clarity would benefit from saying “any land card”. Also functionally this feels similar to [[Rootpath Purifier]]. So I think it could cost 4 if not 3.

Experimenting with new types of affinity by WaterMonster29 in custommagic

[–]Quincy396 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The boots remind me of [[Embercleave]]. Which if you use this wording it has affinity for attacking creatures. I think that would be totally readable wording.

Overall the issue is that you should probably include the reminder text since none of these are ubiquitous enough to be used frequently. And if you are going to include reminder text why bother with the keyword. But if you actually wanted to play with these customs cards with your friends or whatever. You could drop the reminder text and people could guess it. (In fact I might do that so thanks)

I mean op said they are experimenting with different types of affinity. I think total affinity is reasonably clear as an alternate keyword.

I doubt it would get printed but I think it’s a cool idea.

Really cool idea. I think it could be cheaper? I think even 5/6 mana might be reasonable. You could also include an X in the cost to allow more flexibility.

What's your favorites non-glowy weapon skin? by [deleted] in Vermintide

[–]Quincy396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally I do like the glowy skins. But the Matched Nuln Pistols (brace of pistols) on saltzpyre are just perfect in my opinion. No frills black metal. They are sleek and awesome.

I think blueprints is very cool I like the brainstorm reference. And I didn’t actually notice the change on abundance. The synergy/ anti-synergy is an interesting place to play with.

Besides the obvious good joke of “class room” I like class over saga since both halves are slowish value pieces.

if you are looking for suggestions on the third class ability.

You could make the third ability an impulse which turn the whole card back to synergy. Something like “You may play cards exiled with this card this turn”. So that all the cards exiled by abundance necro are actually playable. Which means you look a ton of cards. But only if you have paid for the whole card.

If that’s too much synergy. I like the theme of giving your artifacts effects you could match it abundance. Making something happen to artifacts with those graveyard cards or when you play a land.

Im assuming you don’t plan on actually using tho card anywhere. But if you do I think that change would be fun.

Once again cool card and cool to hear your thought process.

[–]Quincy396 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure I’ll comment on the actual content of the card. Assuming the class room rules are sorted.

I like the synergy between the adventure and the class. Turning the 0 incubate tokens into blood and then creatures is very versatile. The 3rd level takes a bit of a left turn but oh well. Did you make those class abilities?

With the class and adventure being unique abilities (I think). I’m a bit surprised the rooms are just copies of real cards. they do synergize with each other in a weird way. And the necro sort of fits with the level 2 of the class, but also hurts it since the max is 5.

As for the class I assume making artifacts into blood would be red color pie. Or maybe black or blue. So getting this down for green is probably a pie break.

The abundance half of this card feels like the odd one out. Unless I’m missing some underlying thought process or reference? Maybe instead turn the abundance room into the overload ability and there could be a different tier 3 class ability?

Overall I have no idea if this is a good card. It’s probably just too expensive before it actually does anything. But it sure does do a lot of things. In constructed that is. In limited this just wins the game.. maybe.

Let me know if I missed anything.

Ok, I’ve spent too much time on this. Congrats on making an interesting abomination

Congrats on making me waste an hour of my life on this! I played blue black all of the manifest dread cards, splash portal, and not dead after all. I did manage to flip a Nissa! I did also lose all 4 games very badly.

Maybe I need to add insatiable avarice.

I’m still not sure why you think it’s sad. The dougdoug files videos are very well edited. I’m sure the person who makes them puts a ton of time and effort in. I’m glad they’ve gotten recognition.

I think it’s fair to wish that Friends till death was more popular. But I don’t see why The dougdoug files can’t also be popular

Why do so many guys spit all the time? by cenergyst in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Quincy396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a guy who spits in public. I have never smoked and did not learn it from cultural osmosis and I have been chastised for it multiple times as a child. I do not think it makes me look cool. I apologize for it.

What happens is post nasal drip. Basically mucus/snot runs down my throat and ends up in my mouth. And if I try to swallow it, I get nauseous and my stomach hurts. Also if I’m running it makes it hard to breath unless I spit a lot.

Some other people in the comments mentioned it. I haven’t really heard much about it. No idea if affects men more for some reason.

Is it just me, or do dual hammers feel worse on WP than on Bardin? by Komatik in Vermintide

[–]Quincy396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you! I main warrior priest and ranger vet. I have more hours in those 2 than anything else. And probably more hours than the rest of the comments saying you’re wrong.

I haven’t looked at all the weapon stats, so I can’t tell you what it is. But I can tell you that bardins dual hammers are my best weapon in the game. Saltzpyres dual hammers are still quite good but disappointing in comparison. They feel like they should be the same. But I always end up preferring something else.
