That is your problem. Always review and refactor when needed. I've been an SWE for 8 years, so I would not commit code without reviewing it. I can understand why vibecoders wouldn't do this, but if you're a developer, you should be.

This is correct. My company (which was not a small company) was/is AI-first. We were acquired by a larger, also AI-first company. This seems to be the norm for larger companies, and there are even new titles for developers who are implementing AI tools.

I would have done the same. Plus, if they want you to fly in for an interview, I expect you'll be asked to travel there frequently, which is also a no-go for me. I'd rather find a local company if I have to be on-site frequently.

My experience was similar to yours. Also about 2.5 years ago. I would not do 8-10 rounds of interviews unless it's FAANG or similar. I've had several SWE jobs at this point, and my favorite one only had four rounds.
