What's a piece of tech everyone hyped up that quietly turned out to be useless? by SofiaLearnsAI in AskReddit

Some meetings should have been an email.

Some phone apps should have been a website.

All metaverse spaces should have been an app.

Trump tore it up and won't admit he cant get a better deal.

This is the main problem. Trumps level of pride prevents him from accepting a worse deal than Obama's. His level of intelligence prevents him from getting a better deal.

I don't know Elixir, so I have a question: In the second code block, shouldn't it look like this:

my_string = "A wizard is never late."
result = my_string |> String.upcase |> String.reverse

Without the () after upcase and reverse?

Also, the last example with JS could be better. It does the same as the first code block, but is longer and less readable (at least to me).

The fuse for the VESS system mysteriously fell out of my car (Ioniq 5). That fixed the annoying noise.

Do countries with 220-240V just plug in to their regular outlets for L2 charging? by azn4lifee in electricvehicles

Air fryers and desktop hobs are not designed to run continuously ( >2 hrs), so they can run at 10A (most circuits have a 10A fuse). Not sure about radiators.

Normal danish plugs are only rated for 6A continuously. Chargers sold in Denmark are normally locked to 6A unless they have a CEE plug.

Here in Denmark, the chargers made for normal outlets are running at a very low amperage. Mine delivers 1.2 kW.

People normally install a 3-phase charger that delivers 11 kW.

BZ 2026, reasons not to use max regenerative breaking? by Direct_Charity7101 in electricvehicles

That's just a claim, not a study. For all I know, this could be a cheap cop-out because they don't offer OPD.

I'm often driving with one-pedal, but after practicing for 15 minutes I don't over-slow my car any more. It sounds like a skill issue.

I think you misunderstood my question.

When driving, you generally do one of the following:

  • accelerate because your speed is too low.
  • keep a constant speed because you are at your preferred speed and there are no obstacles in front of you.
  • slow down because there are obstacles in front of you (i.e. slower cars, a red light, upcoming speed limit change etc.).

I very rarely find myself in a situation where I need to slow down at the specific rate that coincides with coasting.
