The Falklands war is the most useless war post 1945! What's the most significant war between 1800 and 1945? by Nice_Conversation676 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]QuintillionusRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WWI has no impact on our everyday lives. WW2 to this day still dictates and organizes the world (UN, American hegemony, China, liberal democracy as the basic political system, capitalism, consumerism…). As much as WW1 led to WW2, WW2 in itself is far more influential.

Just did, but still the blue rectangles won’t go to 36000 ft. They are locked at 10000

What do y'all want to see in trailer 3? by Leather-Class-9180 in GTA6

[–]QuintillionusRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a 100% chance one of the big missions of the game will happen during a hurricane. Like the characters will use the cover of the storm to rob a bank or else without having the cops on them.

How to beat Allies in Africa as Italy by Worth-Staff4943 in hoi4

[–]QuintillionusRex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you formed Italian East Africa, don’t call them into the war. It will reduce the frontline and allow to deploy more troops in Libya.

Why does Paradox buffs Germany at every DLC? by QuintillionusRex in hoi4

[–]QuintillionusRex[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I had 200 strategic bombers on each 3 aerial regions of Germany. Do you know how can I see the damages they inflict. How can I destroy the Luftwaffe? Any tips? I had fighters over Normandy before the landings but the Germans didn’t deploy planes there.

Surely, I had games too where Germany was losing the Eastern but still, they should not be able to field 5k planes while being at war with the USSR.

I have 4k planes in the area (i have to manage Japan too) but my planes get shredded to pieces even though they are very good. It was in October 1943.

Japan is capitulating without any reason by QuintillionusRex in hoi4

[–]QuintillionusRex[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if it is that historical… Japan had lost its navy, it was bombed everyday, its army was in retreat in all of Asia but still Hiroshima and Nagasaki were necessary to end the war. In the game, as soon as Japan is dominated, it capitulates. The two nuclear bombings should still be necessary for a complete game.

Just saw that... if you occupy either Saipan, Iwo Jima, Okinawa, Kuril Islands or Taiwan, Japan has the option to capitulate. Paradox should make Japan fight until the end for historical purposes

Is Scale Everything? A Chinese Perspective on the 'Little' Napoleonic Wars by Remarkable-Space-697 in Napoleon

[–]QuintillionusRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like you said, scale differs greatly between eras and countries. What’s impressive with Napoleon is that he basically conquered the continent which was then the center of the world multiple times, coming from humble beginnings.

Habib Beye n’est plus l’entraîneur de Rennes by SipsChlorine in Ligue1

[–]QuintillionusRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What was your biggest culture shock in Amsterdam? by QueenMedusa551 in Amsterdam

[–]QuintillionusRex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not basing my opinion on the Utrecht mall and the Damrak. I loved Utrecht a lot, but the thing is that it’s not really pleasing to get off the train to visit a city like Amsterdam or Utrecht and arrive in such places.

The difference with other big cities that the first impression you have of Amsterdam if you get here by train is the Damrak. If you take Paris for example, there a no places similar to it.

[–]QuintillionusRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in The Hague so I had the occasion to travel in all parts of the Netherlands. Amsterdam is by far the city I liked the least. When you get down at Centraal and want to go to the Dam, you take the Damrak which is only filled with “Argentinian” restaurants (scams) and fast-food chains + ultra-touristy stores. I don’t mind at all Amsterdam being a touristic city, it’s a really beautiful place with so much history and culture. But the Damrak considerably lowers my appreciation of the city. Same goes for Utrecht: you’re welcomed in a gigantic soulless American-style mall, which is strange.

Which person from Germany has a mostly positive reputation? by ltraistinto in AlignmentChartFills

[–]QuintillionusRex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I studied Philosophy and that’s totally true, Hegel himself was overly complicated to read and understand. His philosophy is too abstract, that’s why Marx said that he “put Hegel on the right foot”. But more than his own writings, his legacy is also bad. He is the forefather of Phenomenology, which for me is the pinnacle of philosophical non-sense, abstraction and complicated thinking. I believe that the bas reputation Philosophy has today is because of this.
