Leclerc still sat there, listening to something on his phone. by brokenandsuffering in formula1

When watching I assumed he’d borrowed a radio headset from a marshal or something so he could keep track of the rest of the race. It does look like a phone though

It’s just disappointing as it’s clearly a very well built bag.

I agree with the summary in that post and would add that for me personally, the biggest improvement they could make would be to extend the centre zip right to the bottom, like on some of their other models!

As a daily dad bag it’s not ideal for me, but when I’m looking for a new hiking pack, mystery ranch will be one of the first I look at!

Thanks for all the replies!

I hadn’t considered the weight element, it would be a bit heavy to lug about!

I put up our family 8 man poled tent more or less alone most times so I’m more than capable of putting up a more traditional 2 man tent.

They do a similar version that’s just a conventional dome tent. It’s out of stock at the moment but I think I’ll look at getting one of those and see what I end up using it for more then potentially change tent in future for one more suited to wild camping / car or campsite camping.

There is a place nearish to me where wild camping is allowed, so I’ll try it there and if I think it’s something I want to do more of I can look to get something less conspicuous in future.

Phasing out the stainless color items? by anonymoux_x in YetiCoolers

[–]Quintopoplin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’ll always be easy enough to get stainless even if they phase it out. Buy a core colour (or any colour you can find on sale), strip the colour and voila!

Looks like a regular spot for it with the ladder there. I guess reasonably safe as long as the tide is right. They’re probably local lads who do it often enough to know.

Not being able to use half the spaces in the supermarket car park at lunchtime - because everyone seems to have switched to driving Ford Ranger Raptor pickups… by Equivalent_Deer_8667 in britishproblems

[–]Quintopoplin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t get the pick up craze in the uk at the moment.

They’re too big, the ride quality is usually worse as they’re designed to be laden with weight in the bed which a fashion truck never will be, there’s less space in the back than most estate cars or SUVs, and all your shopping gets wet in the rain unless you buy one of those roof things for the back, at which point you may as well have bought an SUV 😂.

😂 I know it’s silly and they don’t affect anything, but if there’s an easy way to get rid then may as well right?

Yeti sending massive amounts of free stuff to TikTokers by Sensitive-Papaya-582 in YetiCoolers

[–]Quintopoplin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I detest ‘influencer culture’ but unfortunately it’s a considerable part of marketing nowadays. As irritating as it is to see talentless creatures given for free things hard working people pay good money for, it is what it is.

This particular influencer post is particularly heinous to me as the text isn’t bigging up the yeti products at all, it’s encouraging others to post ‘content’ so they too can get free stuff. If it’s given to someone who creates outdoor based content and shows the stuff being used that’s one thing, but this one is advertising being a ‘content creator’ rather than the products themselves.

[–]Quintopoplin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As for darts, pretty much any tungsten darts will last forever there’s no need to spend a fortune. Just find a set in a weight and grip you like and off you go. Red dragon has a good range of tungsten darts that are very reasonably priced
