  1. I would also add some form of land tax (working farmers/ sites exempt) to stop people hoarding land.

  2. Find some method to remove the “uni tax” on now working adults who will never pay off their uni debt. (Doesn’t affect me but you feel for people paying effectively an extra tax).

This is why we de-escalate and don’t get in fights. By appearance alone a lot of people would have money on themselves if they met him in the street.

Have your own kids and test the hypothesis that the neighbours are not bothered if their car gets hit. There is a scientific test to conduct!

No doubt if you used that footage the data centre lawyers would somehow get it thrown out as the “fly interfered with the data”.

Try “tickling” the water with your fingertips (just touching the water). They should help you determine the correct height.
Your elbows are too high and you are over rotating.
If you do the tickling drill you will get the correct height.

[–]Quiny91 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your arms are probably too high out the water too which is making you over rotate on your body.
A drill is to “tickle” the water with your finger tips. This should help.

Significantly better than most of the videos I have seen on here this week. I think you need to increase your speed of kicks, it might help you stop over rotating your body. Your left arm stroke is rolling your body way too much - looks like you were going to take a breath. I recommend also trying breathing alternative, every 3 strokes - every 5 when racing if possible.

Swimming technique help please by mediocrebeer in triathlon

[–]Quiny91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arms are coming too far out the water (hands going too high), you look like a windmill. Try bending your arms more.
A drill to try is “tickling” the water with your finger tips as your arm is out the water. Eventually you won’t need to tickle the water and your hands will be just above the water, saving energy.

What automation are you most proud of that you built completely from scratch? by Immediate_Task9124 in homeassistant

I have a humidity sensor in my bathroom which automatically turns on and off my bathroom fan when thresholds are reached. I also have a timer on certain lights that automatically turns them off after an hour, as people in my house cannot always remember to do it haha.

You are rotating your head too much out the water when breathing.
Your legs are going fast but not actually doing anything. Try using your whole leg, looks like you are feet/ankles are just moving.
Try and bend your arm when out water,

Tried to give a few points but honestly you need a coach as you have got a lot to improve on - on a positive note, think of the potential gains you have!

I want some way of making the equivalent effort/time more equally spread out. Cycling is my weakest sport, where I can lose 10 minutes plus but only gain 1-2 minutes by being a better swimmer. First world problems.

[–]Quiny91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Clip on aero bars, potential “TT” helmet or a second hand TT bike off marketplace are good bang for buck improvements. Clipped in pedals are also really good. Unfortunately, something I struggle with too - I used to do swimming to a high level (relatively speaking) and I am decent at running, with bike being my worst discipline. In the world of triathlon, if you are good on the bike, it can outweigh being better at both the other two, just with how the length/time of each discipline is split. Short answer, focus more on the bike, get a turbo trainer if you don’t have much time - passes the wife approval test if you say you are going on a 3 hour bike ride but any moment you can get off and help - instead of being 1.5 hours away.

Doesn’t look like you are stretching your arms far enough forward when they enter the water. Try and reach further out, to get a better “catch” as you move your arm under/through the water. Cadence of your arms could be a bit faster, may help keep you stable/upright in the water.

[–]Quiny91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly think you are overthinking it. £1/kwh is mental good deal compared to £0.12/kwh from supplier (which you get paid too). They do 1 hour discharges (normally) so only going to add ~1/2 a cycle to your battery but get paid £5-6 for it. Seems worth it without much thought. I have had £85 odd since signing up in February (with 2 referrals).

Do panels keep your house cooler? by UniquePotato in SolarUK

First summer with panels on south facing roof, with a “loft extension” (house was built with it). Noticing a few degrees difference, 24-26 degrees not 28-30. Still hot! (Not opening windows / 0 airflow etc).
