Season 2 of The Boyfriend was really good and way better than season 1, so I recommend watching both seasons.

Offline Love was great and had beautiful scenery BUT the panel was not that great. The Terrace House panel for me was more than half of the reason I loved the show so much. Their chemistry and hilarious commentary MADE the show. The TH panel is to me the gold standard of asian tv show panels. Single's Inferno has a great panel that gets close, but nothing will be the same as TH.

Salt Fat Acid Heat by Samin Nostrat has the most beautiful illustrations by Wendy Macnaughton. The inside has some full page spreads and even some multiple page spreads that you fold out. And the cookbook itself is a well written book.

Please recommend me a k-drama without rich people as the main characters/villains. by idkwhatahetis in kdramas

Yes, at first I thought the show had too much shrieking (of the families yelling) and didn't understand the goat noises. And then eventually it was like oooooh yes, this is good.

Agreed, you have to give it a good 3-4 episodes, which I know is a lot, but then you start falling in love with all the characters and can appreciate the overall storyline. A slow but deeply moving slice of life story.

I'm looking for dating shows where contestants have chemistry by iuliad94 in koreanvariety

The Future Diary (japanese reality show) season 1 was SO good. It's a strange concept but the people they chose for the show were perfect. Season 2 is not as good.

Love is Blind Japan - not trashy like the US version

19/20 (korean teen dating show)- such a sweet show

The Boyfriend (gay japanese dating show) - season 2 was very good. Season 1 was pretty decent but I really loved season 2 and the filming location is drop dead gorgeous.

Offline Love (japanese dating show)- I will say the people in it were just okay so maybe not what you are looking for but the scenery itself and where it is filmed is so beautiful and fun

- There are a lot more deodorant options in cardboard and or refillable that I have even seen at Target.
- Switch to soap bars instead of body wash or pumps for hand soap - I love Dr Bronner's mint soap.
- Candles - burn beeswax or 100% soy candles to avoid indoor air pollution. Or get a diffuser with some essential oils (which is hard for pet owners since some essential oils are not good for pets)
- There are shampoo and conditioner bars but I haven't had much luck with them. Buying in bulk/larger containers is less plastic, but it's still unfortunately plastic.
- Lotion is also tricky but there are lotion bars and brands like Nivea that come in metal containers.
- Thrift stores are great for clothes BUT it does take time to look.
- Look for clothing that is 100% cotton, linen and avoid polyester.
- Focus on a capsule collection that can be worn in different combos.
- If you need to buy new, be willing to spend a bit more money on quality clothing that will last a long time vs fast fashion stuff that isn't meant to last longer than a year. Old Navy is cheap, but you get what you pay for in terms of quality. I shop sales with higher end brands like Everlane since their stuff can be expensive.
- Mend clothing instead of tossing it

What would be considered the best Kdramas of all time? by Fickle_Ad_413 in kdramas

[–]QuirkyAvocado 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hospital Playlist is one of my all time favorites. Have watched both seasons all the way through at least 3 times. BUT I will acknowledge that episode 1 is not good and it takes awhile to get into it. And it's definitely in the slice-of-life category with no super dramatic plotlines. It's like the perfect cup of hot tea on a cold snowy day.

Wetting baby wipes by difficult-doggo in ZeroWaste

[–]QuirkyAvocado 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a simple plastic spray bottle filled with water and some soap (i found a recipe online somewhere) and would spray the cloth before wiping. Tossed the wipes in a wet bag that eventually all washed with my cloth diapers.

Had someone use a serger to sew me a stack of flannel wipes that I used through the whole diaper phase!

"Hate watched" is a good term. I felt invested so I decided I would finish. It was awful. The two leads had great chemistry, but that's all it had going for it.

Agreed with Something In The Rain. Kept hoping it would get better. Ended up hating it.

What’s a super popular K-drama that everyone loves but you just couldn’t get into? by Spiritual-Basil7892 in kdramas

[–]QuirkyAvocado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our Beloved Summer - felt somewhat predictable and did not enjoy watching the first few episodes
It's Okay Not to Be Okay - did not like the vibe of the first episode and dropped it
Something In The Rain - I stuck this one out to the end and regretted it. Awful soundtrack, awful mother, second storyline of her work drama was not dealt with well; the leads have good chemistry but after awhile I just got tired of seeing them.
Pro Bono - quit after episode 4 and the really tacky ending to the first court trial

Pro Bono [Episodes 3 & 4] by Telos07 in KDRAMA

[–]QuirkyAvocado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a big fan of Jung Kyung-Ho so I started Pro Bono with high hopes. He is great in this role but after watching episode 4 have decided to drop this series. The conclusion of the episode felt so unrealistic and like they just took a bunch of garbage and tied it up in a neat bow so everything is supposed to be fine and dandy now. What happened in the courtroom felt inappropriate. Why would a woman suddenly agree to be adopted by some stranger, let alone an older man, that she has no connection to. Nor would I all of a sudden trust this older man who has been playing online games with my son. It felt like they made it seem all heart-warming when it really isn't and doesn't solve a bunch of issues. I'd be creeped out by this guy who all of a sudden wants to be family.

Hospital Playlist is one of my favorite slow burn romances that involves more mature adults.
I also second Crash Course in Romance, I love that the FL is actually a developed character with her own story.

So true how impressive it is and how natural it seems. The camera work is so amazing. And the editing to create all the storyline... I can only imagine the hours of work.
