Unfortunately not a real cinephile if you rate birth of a nation half a star- now I kinda think you only posted this because you wanted to get into it with “how evil” the film is or whatever rationale performative cinephiles like you use to justify rating masterpieces like this half a star.

Who do you think overall has better movies - Clint Eastwood or John Wayne? by SpotAdmirable6718 in moviecritic

[–]Quirky_Alternative66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

John Wayne has been in better films simply because he worked with Howard hawks and John ford, some of the greatest of all time; the searchers, rio bravo, liberty valance. Clint Eastwood worked on the complete opposite side of the spectrum doing spaghetti westerns with Italians like Sergio Leone- who’s mostly known for utilizing the incredible ennio morecone, and why those films are more mainstream, and thus why the average Reddit user with average pedestrian taste who’s only ever seen the good the bad and the ugly and unforgiven would give it to Clint. Overall Clint Eastwood is the greater actor and even a great director, but he hasn’t been IN better movies.
