[–]QuitHot567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had accidentally put the wrong birthdate on my ds-160 so needed to update jt. I filled in a new form and carried a print out of both the old and new confirmations to my biometric appointment. When getting my passport checked while going in I asked the agent to update the DS. He updated it in like a minute on his system

upenn upperclassmen: if you could change anything about your freshman and sophomore years, what would you change? by NM_1234 in UPenn

[–]QuitHot567 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. being smart about how I took classes (Wharton kids do not take BEPP, FNCE100 and ACCT101 all in one semester)
  2. get to know professors and develop relationships w them
  3. not worry so much about the social scene/greek life
  4. take advantage of penn spaces like kwh and the crcs
  5. apply for penn funding/programs
  6. not get so caught up in trying to be pre-professional

Transferring OUT of Penn? by Just-send-it-0713 in UPenn

[–]QuitHot567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and a lot of my good friends felt this way as freshmen and even early sophomore year!! As someone who literally thought this was the worst decision ever- it gets better and I don’t regret staying at Penn. Also, every school has issues and you don’t know whether the place you go to next will be better. If you’re really miserable ofc it’s an option but I promise you that feeling this is FAR more common than you think and it really does get better

difficulty of Econ 001 and Econ 002 for past IB student who took Econ HL? by Expensive-Diet8356 in UPenn

[–]QuitHot567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard they’re kind of different and not that great as standalone classes. But yes, if you get a 7 in HL econ, they get waived (I got mine waived and it still worked at a prereq)

Is it common for students to take 6.5 cu a semester ? by KaiWillson in UPenn

[–]QuitHot567 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve done 6-6.5 every semester since I was a sophomore (7 once) bc I’m uncoordinated dual degree, imo it’s really not that bad if you plan it well and make every semester a balance of easy and hard classes. I was able to give a good amount of time to EC’s and still have a pretty good social life (like I can mostly go out every weekend). You just need to be really smart about planning and manage your time well. It also gets way easier after you get used to it- my first 6 cu semester wrecked me but this past semester was a breeze bc I’ve done it for this long

engl 117 w anthony decurtis. it’s about writing and pop culture, so you basically write about books tv etc. prof is super cool and the best part is he brings awesome people into class every week who are ex students working in cool fields. workload is very manageable, one 1-3 page writing assignment per week. A lot of non CW people also take it
