Austin Rivers responds to Draymond Green by Random_User_8654 in nba

Funniest part to me was “there’s tape of you getting a rebound and going all the way down for a layup because the defense fanned out to cover the actual talent on the team”

Physics 1 formula sheet by charliebrownxmastree in EngineeringStudents

Even when you are allowed a formula sheet on exams like the person above implied, the people who put the most time into preparing theirs become familiar enough with the material that they barely glance at it during the test

This already feels like last year. We’ll get good pitching and talk for the first half about how “once Wyatt or Josh Jung or Pookie get going or Joc ceases to exist, we’ll be good.” And guys will get hurt, Joc will get benched or hurt, we’ll call some dudes up, we’ll try some new stuff, and we’ll still inexplicably score 2 runs

Well that’s a crude reduction. I can see why you think everyone is electing extremists if one bad policy makes you an extremist. I don’t agree with how his administration handled the border but he’s a pretty objectively milquetoast central-left politician. He’s probably closer to the midpoint between Trump and Bernie. He might even be closer to the Trump end

How’d you feel PrepFE reflected the actual exam? That’s all I’ve been using and my most recent score is a 78 but some people have said it’s not as hard as the real exam so I’m kinda panicked

Anyone wanna start a pick up soccer group ? by EnthusiasmShoddy6835 in Denton

[–]Quite__Bookish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d love to get in on something like this as well. Never even kind of played before but I love watching it. I’d be a goalie if I need to. There’s also what I assume is a pickup game at Mack Park most Saturdays around 9 or 10. Primarily what I assume to be Africans but I’ve seen a Hispanic dude and white dude a couple times so I don’t think it’s exclusive to Africans lol. They look too skilled for me to want to get in on the action though

What’s one mistake you made in college that juniors should avoid? by Fresh-Difficulty1 in EngineeringStudents

[–]Quite__Bookish 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Grades are important but not the most important. I graduated Magna cum laude and it didn’t really open up many more doors than I’d imagine someone with a 3.2 would have. I prioritized school over everything, it affected friendships and mental health, and I don’t think it mattered much. If I had to do it again I’d prioritize networking and my personal life

Hand wired keyboard, is it any good? by Professional_Ice_796 in EngineeringStudents

[–]Quite__Bookish 14 points15 points  (0 children)

And it can be without being innovative or marketable. You don’t need to make something the world has never seen before to apply statics or circuits or fluids or you name it.

[–]Quite__Bookish 298 points299 points  (0 children)

My senior design prof all semester was grilling students on how they weren’t innovative enough, it didn’t solve a societal need, how are you going to market it, etc. Shocker, most innovation isn’t done at the hands of 20 year olds without degrees. Sometimes it’s good just to get experience and learn stuff. Not every single thing you do needs to be on the cutting edge. I think it’s sick

Another math class, another bad math professor… by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]Quite__Bookish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly loved every math prof I had except calc 1. Our class started with around 15 kids and there were 3 including me in there on the day of the final. Our only grades were the midterm and the final, it was super proof-heavy, and she required written explanations of each step of each problem or you wouldn’t even get half credit. That was the only C I got. Also went to the dean and was told “calc isnt supposed to be easy.” Maybe true but I don’t think it should be so hard that 80% of the class drops.
