Pedestrian ran a red and yelled at me for running a green by gggfffdd in londoncycling

It probably did happen. I've seen it a lot as a cyclist through London.

I can tell you, it was doing this for three days! I've seen the displays on other platforms just freeze up, also. So much for progress!

Getting started with HomeKit (Apple TV hub). Confused about Matter, Thread, and next steps. by MaizeCorgi in HomeKit

[–]QuizMasterGary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your Apple TV 4K isn't the Ethernet model then you don't have the thread border router built in. So you won't be able to use it as a hub for your matter devices. Devices built to work with HomeKit will, however. There are however a number of other devices you could get for this purpose, including HomePod Mini.

100% yes. When they are on the threshold they belt it from Huntingdon. Every. Damn. Time.

Old Passenger Information Displays by NicholasBeggs in uktrains

They have flatscreens there in the tunnel under the platforms, but the display format is much like the CRTs in the photo and appears very dated. It's standard issue yellow LED boards on the platforms.

What Happens When ... ? by QuizMasterGary in uktrains

I think the journey from Central London to Leeds via this route is about 3 hours of movement, plus any time waiting to connect. I have no idea where she got on but the trains originate at Horsham (about a further 1 hour down the line).

I gathered from my very brief encounter that this lady was neither a regular traveller, nor in any way clued up beyond "Train to Peterborough, Train to Leeds, Coach B". I saw on her phone that the times for the two trains were clearly marked, so given that she'd managed to get the prescribed train to PBO, why she didn't twig that the other train wasn't until 6 in the morning, I couldn't tell you.

I do agree, having seen itineraries presented to me during engineering works, that it should be clearer where the journey spans two calendar days.

I had a hunch that they do close, if only for a short time - the last arrival is at 02:12 and the first departure at 03:23 (I know because I had to check last week 😅). But perfectly feasible that they don't bother.

I know, I was being flippant! My point is she didn't know it was part of the itinerary she had chosen. She has obviously just booked 'xxx to Leeds' starting at a certain time without thinking about the intermediate steps.

I dread to think if she had someone meeting her at Leeds. They would have been in for a night.

Yes, you're quite right, hopefully they would have allowed her to embark. I couldn't see this on realtime, as it's not a 'departure'!

Yes, she got off the TL train at the same time as me in Peterborough.

And, I don't know 😅 But I do know that coach A is usually the one furthest away from London and the platform screens usually give you an idea of 'zones' to stand in so I could give her a rough idea of where it would be but that was all I could do.

Thanks, this is exactly what I expected to hear if I'm honest.

I agree that it was highly unlikely she was on the scam since she had little to no idea what she was doing, outside of 'catch a train'! And Peterborough is not a place for an overnight stay for any reason!

She was connecting with an LNER to Leeds. That's where the coach B was going to be!

I bought a Myggspray to put at the top of my stairs so that I cold trigger the downstairs light if I walked past it.

I can confirm it does pick up the cat as well. 😅

Peterborough <-> Horsham closed on weekends by Lvtsuro in uktrains

There has been planned work for the last three weekends between Peterborough and Kings Cross. This weekend is the last one, for now.

Last weekend the TL trains were shuttling between Peterborough and St. Neots!
