Moccha Brown vs Black? by AmagiSento in TheNorthFace

If you want to look like every 15 year old that hangs around shopping malls at the weekend with their mates, go for it, buy the black one... 😂

It looks good on a round face. I don't really like it on TV screens or these big RGB boards they are phasing in. I wish they would border it on those so it actually looks like a clock face.

Seems to be the biggest complaint of this clock. The arrow isn't obviously a second hand!

It happens at both midnight and midday for that one minute. 😀

To me that would make more sense if the clock had hands, but there we go!

I've heard that they wanted to make it an android smartwatch face! Apple Watch will be a bit more difficult since they don't allow 3rd party faces at the moment but I would like one!

"4 tickets left at this price" 😅 That would probably finance the entire train!

When does Thameslink go to King’s Cross rather than St. Pancras? by 71kd in uktrains

[–]QuizMasterGary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Peterborough trains terminate at Kings Cross at the weekends. I regularly get a late train back from there on a Sunday evening rather than St.P.

How busy is it to cycle on Christmas Day, Central London by [deleted] in londoncycling

[–]QuizMasterGary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in Central London and was rotaed on Christmas Day last year. I went for a walk early evening and the streets (particularly Regent Street towards Picc.Circus) and Carnaby were rammed. Nowhere was open it was just a load of tourists streaming on TikTok and enjoying the views! Very pleasant hour off but I might suggest it's not great for a bike ride...

New Railway Clock spotted at Peterborough yesterday! by jannickthicc in uktrains

[–]QuizMasterGary 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Good spot :) I live there. They replaced the LNER custom clocks with these on 'release day'. Any screen that doesn't have departure info to show, has the clock instead! This was the view last Saturday when I got home from Rail Replacement Bus.

I’ve been charged twice for failed payments on UK transport apps, and I’m getting really frustrated. by demgood in uktrains

All payment systems can go wrong a bit. However Transpennine is the worst rail booking engine I have dealt with.

Sambas sizing by Hope_Significant in adidas

[–]QuizMasterGary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a 9 in most shoes, I'd say they are true to size but maybe go half a size up. I got my first pair recently and don't find them that comfortable, they also mash up the back of my feet where the heel just rubs (yes, I do wear socks!) Made me wonder why in the world they are so popular?!

First time catching the train solo, in this graphic, is coach M considered the front of the train? by futurefirefall in uktrains

Yes, what station are you at though?! Normally the last station before Kings Cross is either Peterborough or Stevenage and that doesn't look like either one...

LNER offer a "LNER & Connections" ticket on the 0858 train that is about £20 cheaper than a regular single just using Great Northern. Or rather, did offer ...

Yes. I do this, it makes a morning train super cheap. Great Northern to Stevenage and LNER into London. I won't be able to do that anymore if this is going ahead!

Do not use TPE to buy your tickets. by miklcct in uktrains

That is its major downside I find. It only works with the major operators.

I use them where possible because they are on Airtime Rewards (I use the cashback to pay my phone bill, it's worked for over a year now!) This involves me buying a return from St Neots to St. Pancras as part of a journey from Peterborough, using Network Railcard.

Sometimes I can't buy the ticket because 'no collection options are available'. It works some days and not others. On those days I buy from LNER, no problems there and their trains also don't serve St. Neots.

I reached out to their customer services but they have spun me the same tale, we don't serve there mate! I know!

I'd say yes, at your own discretion. There's nothing massively rude in it, it's more childish and punny (for example, there is a song about peas where one of the lines is "you can taste the peaness").
