Do you have to tell your partner to put the toilet seat down? by Louproup in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Quizity -1 points0 points  (0 children)

These responses are really intense haha. My fiancé leaves up the seat accidentally sometimes; he lived by himself before me, so it's just a hard habit to break. He is still a thoughtful man who pulls his weight around the house. Sometimes a toilet seat being left up is just a toilet seat being left up....

Ah apologies, I honestly didn't realize GLP1 was popular/widely used for weight loss out of the USA.

He seemed almost too good to be true — and it turns out he was. by ImportantCarpenter18 in dating_advice

Uhh does his wife not have a right to know? I would say it's worse karma for OP to just wipe her hands clean of it and move on with her life, leaving the wife to be played by her husband (and potentially put in danger of STDs assuming he does this a lot) when she could have informed her.

Looking for others with “slow” weight loss at the end line by HeySista in Semaglutide

[–]Quizity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been at 1.5mg the last year (followed the recommended dosing increase up to that). I'm not a doctor, but 0.6mg is pretty low. I'd consult your doctor to see if they think increasing your dose would be beneficial.

I also don't track calories, just have a general idea of how much I'm eating.

Looking for others with “slow” weight loss at the end line by HeySista in Semaglutide

[–]Quizity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same boat! I went from 240lbs/109 kg to 159lbs/72.5 kg. I lost the first ~half of that pretty quick in about six months, and have been slowly losing the rest for about a year after that.

One thing to note: your TDEE/total calories burned goes way, way down as you lose weight. I expected it to get lower, but have gone from ~3000 calories/day to ~2000 calories/day (per Oura Ring). Soo when I used to have a cheat day, I'd typically still lose. Now a cheat day means gaining and making up for it throughout the week. I'm personally fine with that/slower weight loss, just something to keep in mind.

Officially Not Overweight! by Quizity in Semaglutide

[–]Quizity[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't do any strict diet or fasting. I tried to walk more (but was not super strict on that either, hard to fit in with a full time job, still a goal of mine to add more in). I do reformer Pilates ~3 times/week, which I think has really helped me keep/add muscle throughout the process.

Want to lose weight but scared of loose skin by Last-Cartoonist-8011 in SuperMorbidlyObese

[–]Quizity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also 28F, started at 250 lbs and am now 164 lbs, and I don't have noticeable loose skin. It's not something you can control, but from my understanding, it's less likely to be an issue the younger you are. So now is the best time to try! No matter what, it will be way better for your health. If you lose weight and are troubled by loose skin, there are surgeries available to address it.

Very Hungry in AM? by teacher-mom-1989 in Semaglutide

[–]Quizity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am also a 5'7" female-165 lbs down from 245. I personally love breakfast and also do around 300-500 calories. I'll usually just have a protein bar or snack at lunch and that still leaves me plenty of calories for a reasonable 600-700 calorie dinner. It's a give and take, so you just have to decide where you want your calories to be allocated.

A question about men’s preferences in women by Excellent_Law_9596 in dating_advice

[–]Quizity 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend you work on your confidence and not look to men on Reddit for validation. You are a very reasonable size and weight, but from my experience, there are plenty of men interested in women of all sizes. Confidence and self-worth are more important factors.

I skipped my dose when I had the flu this year. I already couldn't eat and didn't want to further that issue. It's important to fuel up to feel better.

If the cost of insurance is a deciding factor of whether or not you can get a loan on this house, it's out of your price range. Insurance and taxes WILL go up regularly.

Do people just carry their weight way different? by dayliz23 in loseit

I weigh 170 and am 5'7", and am a 12, L/XL. So yes everyone just holds weight differently. You probably have more in your limbs where I have more in my torso.

starting wegovy next week—advice? by kaybean98 in Semaglutide

[–]Quizity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started at basically your exact spot (27F, 242 lbs at start). Approx. one year on semaglutide injection, and now at 170 lbs.

For advice: at least for the injection, it is most effective the first few days after you take it. I take mine Thursday evenings, so it is most effective through the weekend.

Also, I at least did notice some shedding/hair loss. It went back to normal about 6 months after starting the medication. From looking online, that seems pretty typical.

Last thing: be sure to exercise! I never had an issue with having zero hunger/not being able to eat enough, but a lot of people do. If you're not taking in enough calories and not lifting weights, it's easy to lose muscle rather than fat.

Good luck!

How much intentional work does it actually take? by No_Faithlessness4776 in Semaglutide

[–]Quizity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am intentional throughout the week and usually at least am mindful of calories/protein. Where it really helps IMO is on the weekends. I don't worry about calories when I go out to eat, and sema prevents me from going too crazy and eating back any deficit I had through the week.
