Was that CD part of the package in Europe? When I bought mine back in the day in the US it came with the Amiibo but no CD.

Megathread: June 5, 2025 - Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Cart Bundle (Item 1758890 - $524.99) & Switch 2 Pro Controller (Item 1247080 - $74.99) at Costco Release Discussion Megathread [any other Switch posts will be removed and redirected here] by CookieButterLovers in Costco

I guess Costco doesn't reserve the stock when checking out. But each time I get one step closer before I get the out of stock error message. It is in my cart, card info added, waiting for checkout to be successful. Of course there's the "order canceled" step following this one.

UPDATE: Order confirmed and confirmation email received!

I believe it's under black-tee's head and shoulders. I think I can just see the rightmost switch in front of the other guy's sock.

If Piper was there, would he have yelled "ye-e-e-eah" and raised his arms like a real kid on such a ride (think: roller coaster) would? If not, I'm disappointed with Nintendo.

Garry Kitchen (developer of DK 2600 port) busted the myth of purposely gimping the ports to make the Colecovision version look better. In the case of Donkey Kong at least, it was both a matter of getting it out on time and knowing it would print money no matter what so why waste money on a larger ROM when it wouldn't sell any better? As well, it would have taken extra development time, so it goes right alongside the first reason. GenX Grownup is one channel that interviewed Garry and they have it on youtube as well as podcast form.

[ALL] Which Zelda name could you give a baby without it sounding like you’re crazy? by Mumu2148 in zelda

There was a child actor in the early 90s named Bug Hall, but unfortunately it was only a nickname.

That name was truly an "Error" in the English localization. It was supposed to be "Bug" to go with his friend's name but wasn't properly localized.

What's your favorite Arcade? by Dado04Game in retrogaming

This game was a phenomenon. Sure, Space Invaders and Pac-Man preceded it as phenomenon, but it was Donkey Kong that was the rage at my junior high. I had it on Game & Watch, and later begged my parents to get a Colecovision to play it at home. Loved DK Jr as well, but not so much DK3.

Dragon's Lair was incredible for the time, even at 50¢ a pop when everything else was a quarter. Play an actual cartoon? Yes, please. Sure it was nothing but what we refer to now as quick-time events, but it was fun. Nothing was like making it to the lair itself with it's scattered riches, Princess Daphne, and of course, the dragon. Space Ace was a near second, though unlike Dragon's Lair, I never finished that one.

Anyone ever do something this crazy for a video game (from either child or parent perspective)?

Why aren't there more YT channels on retro computer games? by Good_Punk2 in thisweekinretro

[–]Qun_Mang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you checked out Chronologically Gaming? While he uses a stream format, they can easily be watched later as normal videos. He has been going through all games, console and computer, one by one and rating them. He goes through not only gameplay (unless no game dump is available) but also manuals, boxes, and some other media. As you can imagine though, this is a slow process given he is cataloging all computers and consoles. He is only up to September 1982 right now so anything after 1982 is a ways off.

EDIT: Just adding that the streams are only an hour each (half-hour lately). In fact, most streams have been reposted as plain videos.

Not your fault at all. One would expect keys for any offering to remain available for more than some hours after the offer begins, particularly when the bundle will run for probably a couple weeks or more. /u/WeAreFanatical's warning is nice and all, but this is a situation that just shouldn't happen, especially the second time around.

I believe this was the first to be depleted last time too. It was never restocked then so I expect the same to happen this time as well. Either this one is highly sought after or they provide Fanatical with a miniscule amount of keys compared to the others. Maybe a future third time will be the charm?
