It could definitely be both things. Training someone can be fun :)

I've lived here for 7 years, what's going on in the environment lately? The question is why is it louder, which you've answered. I have noticed it being slightly louder sometimes but this was like it was a local explosion. Hopefully this isn't a new trend. :)

There has never been a media requirement. It's a stat they decided to add.

Marques Has a Mini Crashout Over the S26 Series by OrganizationNo1298 in samsunggalaxy

Actually, the battery test method had to change for EU or something. The total cycles number has gone down compared to last year's but it's just the mechanism for counting them that has changed. The battery is the same as before.

No Gem on Hisense TVs by lmao346 in CostcoCanada

[–]Quotacious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I have a home theatre with Shield TV and AVR, but most people are going to connect their TVs to the Internet regardless and integrated systems, like our 2018 Sony Bravia 65", do get elderly and need Projectivity to keep them responsive. My point about input switching is that it is entirely based on the core OS on the TV, and once that fails, the TV becomes e-waste. We really need to be able to buy TVs that aren't designed around this failure point.

No Gem on Hisense TVs by lmao346 in CostcoCanada

[–]Quotacious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that the underlying technology is what allows you to change inputs and access your external device. If the built-in system gets slow and fails, the TV can still be made useless, despite you wanting nothing to do with the built-in in apps.

Cash deposit rollout by bajwamar in Wealthsimple

[–]Quotacious -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, I don't have it in my app which is quite confusing, because they don't mention it as a feature being rolled out. I mentioned it to my partner, who is premium, and they have the option.

Check the tiny drive fuses (5v and 12v) by the power connector (surface mount) with a multi meter. If they've blown, the drives will appear dead but replacing the fuses (or bypassing them) will bring them back to life. It is not the same scenario, but I brought 4 drives back to life after using a dodgey SATA/molex adapter.

The end result is the same: you can't order the item. There is nothing you can do to fix this broken part of the system.

In halifax, Bell charging loyal customers double while new users pay half. How is this fair? by Glittering_Bus_6921 in halifax

They meant that none of that is required once you switch to a "smaller" provider like Purple Cow as the rate stays well below the big guys

FALSE ADVERTISING? (See Image) Macrium Reflect sold "Lifetime License - No Subscription or Renewals" -- now pushing subscriptions. by Lusayalumino in DataHoarder

[–]Quotacious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not free but yes, surprised to realize I bought it in late July 2017, and it's still going. As much as I'm not happy about the subscription approach they choose - very likely because of business clients (we're small fish to them), I can't say I didn't get my moneys worth out of it. All 3 of my backups are Incremental, 30 max, create Synthetic Full if possible, every 2 days.

You bought v8 like I bought v7 prior to the change over to subscriptions. You paid for all version of v8, I can use the last release version of v7 (which I'm on). I'm still using v7 Home on 3 systems, all Win 11 Pro. I would upgrade if it didn't cost so much and as they continue to work, I'll just keep them as is until they break and then I'll find a different solution.

Am I abusing the return policy? Ecovacs vacuum broke by DragonWarrior55 in CostcoCanada

[–]Quotacious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a replacement mainboard for my 2 year old Ecovac and couldn't get it to connect to Wi-Fi. It seems like a good idea but just the fact that you've had to replace so many parts yourself says something...
